My dear enemy

My dear enemy

he said, his voice low and reassuring. Maya nodded, her heart still racing with anticipation. She had no idea what lay ahead, but she was ready to face it. As long as she had Ariana, Ryker, and Sarah by her side, she knew that she could handle anything. As Ryker's words hung in the air, the vehicle rounded a bend in the road, and Maya caught her first glimpse of their destination. Her eyes widened as she took in the sight of a heavily fortified compound, surrounded by high walls and barbed wire.

DIVORCED, I QUICKLY MARRIED A BILLIONAIRE

DIVORCED, I QUICKLY MARRIED A BILLIONAIRE

At dawn, Maya stood in the warehouse. It was like the others. Empty. Dark. Dangerous. Officers were positioned on rooftops. In adjacent buildings. In the basement. All of them watching. All of them ready. Marcus was in a command vehicle outside. Watching the feed from the cameras attached to Maya's body. "Can you hear me?" he asked through the earpiece. "Yes," Maya said. "I love you," he said. "I know," Maya said. "I love you too." The sun climbed higher. No movement. No signs of Catherine Wei.

We Were Almost

We Were Almost

Everything is the same. "I'll visit," Maya said. "Every holiday. Every chance I get." "I know." "You'll come visit too. The city is beautiful. You'll love it." "I'm sure I will." Mama reached across the table. "But today is not about visits. Today is about you. About starting your life." Mama cried. Maya held her. Bisi arrived at 8am. Charged into the apartment like a hurricane. Hugged Maya. Hugged her mother. Cried. Laughed. Cried again.

MAY

MAY

"Your father's friend lives there. I'll give you his contact and write down his address so you can settle in for the time you'll spend there." "Alright." May scraped her chair backwards. The abrupt manner in which she did it, caused few eyes to look up at her. "Uhm, Ebiere I want to urinate. Can you show me where the bathroom is?" She asked. Hassan stood up cheerfully, "Let me show you." Iby dragged him back to his seat, "Stay here busy body. She called Ebiere. She did not say Hassan." As May followed Ebiere out of the dinning room, Hassan shouted after her, "Can I join you?"

maramartha
May represents a large number of women that are constantly abused in their homes but still manage to smile and live through it. I hope women in similar situations reading this book get some of the happiness that May gets.
The Dream Elixir
This book was beautifully written and I enjoyed it so very much. It made me feel so many things and I was on the edge of my seat for most of the while because I really wanted the best for May. I felt so much anger towards Edric, uncertainty towards Tega, and love for Edric. definitely insightful

THE BILLIONAIRE'S UNCONVENTIONAL BRIDES

THE BILLIONAIRE'S UNCONVENTIONAL BRIDES

Near the bar, I spotted Greg Bishop, a renowned grandmaster, his gaze fixed blankly on the distance, as though lost in thought, untouched by the lively chatter around him. But none of them were the ones I was searching for. I turned around just in time to see Maya Winters. Her eyes met mine as she was already staring at me. Maya was my ex that never seemed to accept the news that there was nothing that was going to ever happen between us. Her lips turned up when she saw me. Then she winked and blew a kiss at me. I knew she would have approached if she wasn't in what seemed to be a serious conversation. I wasn't ready to deal with her and I wanted nothing to affect Caila's mood.

OAKHAVEN

OAKHAVEN

"If you try to listen to every station at the same time, it’s just noise. You have to learn how to tune into one frequency at a time." I practiced for hours. At first, I only saw flashes of static, but soon, I started to see small things. I saw the maintenance worker in the cafeteria above drop a tray of cups three minutes before it actually happened. I saw Elara spill her water before her hand even moved toward the glass. "You're getting faster," Elara said, entering the room with a tray of synthetic nutrient bars. "But that was easy stuff. The government has eyes everywhere, Maya. They know you’re gone. They’ve locked down the transit station and are currently scanning the perimeter for an

365 Days With My Dad’s Bestfriend

365 Days With My Dad’s Bestfriend

I kept looking at the parked cars along the street to make sure none of Dominic's black cars were idling nearby. The loading dock was tucked into a narrow, dark brick alleyway filled with green trash bins and empty wooden boxes. Maya was standing right next to the heavy rolling steel door. She was shivering in her big knitted sweater, holding a brown paper bag tightly in her hands. She was pacing back and forth on the gravel. "You made it," Maya said in a fast whisper the second I reached her. She looked over my shoulder, checking the mouth of the alley to make sure nobody followed me.

she exhaled deeply. The next day, Maya was already dressed up to leave, she was in a Tie-neck pink floral gown and her hair was packed in a ponytail and she wore flat shoes along her cross-body bag. She came out of the apartment and locked the door before walking away, a car was following her behind and she seemed not to notice, then she stopped a cab and entered, and soon she arrived at her destination. She came down after paying the cab man, she was amazed by the magnificent building. Jayden was seated at his office when his cell phone rang, he picked it up.

Mother, May I

Mother, May I

We look at each other—me, Maeve, Win, Dougal. We’re not close. Not really. But right now, we’re a unit. A weapon. We nod. No words needed. We stand shoulder to shoulder, arms raised, palms toward the gate. Together, we speak the ancient prayer: “Gēta hoyi kibirihini bet’elati layi āwit’a.” (Lord, release your glorious power against the enemy.) Power builds between us. Light and wind and thunder. The gate begins to tremble, resisting us.

THE BILLIONAIRE'S SECRET HEIR

THE BILLIONAIRE'S SECRET HEIR

“You think Damian would accept that?” A faint smile. “He doesn’t get a vote.” The lower compound was a war zone. Bodies. Smoke. Sirens. Maya was safe—wrapped in a blanket, trembling but alive. She clutched Damian’s arm with surprising strength. “She went back,” Maya whispered. “She chose me.” The words hit harder than any bullet. Damian closed his eyes briefly. Julian stepped up. “We have intel. They moved her underground. Old bunker system.”
