As blood gushes from his neck, Chuck reflexively pulls the trigger on his gun, but it goes off aimlessly and harmlessly into the ceiling above. I suppose the ceiling would disagree with my assessment of the shot being harmless, but as a non-sentient being it has no say in the discussion.
I cross over and kneel next to Chuck, enjoying watching the life bleed out of him. “Well shucks, Chuck, this sucks.”
