I bury my face in my hands and sob quietly until the car is finally driving in a normal rhythm.
“You okay honey,” he asks, as I peep one eye out of my hands.
“Are you okay,” I ask, uncovering my face.
“Chunk just got shot, he might not make it,” he says, and it’s clear he’s barely holding it together.
“What can we do,” I whisper, as I crawl into the seat.
