Thank you all for reading my book. This is my second book on good novel and I hope you all enjoy it. 'Quagmire' is a romance novel which possesses a lot of twists, turns, complications but still enough romance to keep it interesting and thrilling. The book is an entire work of fiction and is not intended to make mockery or downgrade any kind of individual.

His gaze swept over Kael and lingered a moment too long, a thin, predatory smile crossing his lips. “You have survived your first test,” Harken began, voice low, deliberate, commanding attention without raising it. “Now, you will enter the Trial of Blades. Only precision, wit, and courage will keep you alive. Strength alone will fail you.” He raised his hand, and the courtyard floor shuddered. Sections of the stone split open, revealing a complex maze of raised platforms, narrow ledges, swinging blades, and hidden pits. The labyrinth stretched farther than Kael could see, shadows twisting unnaturally across every surface.

My heart was pounding in my chest. My breathing sped up the faster I ran. I could feel every pound of my paws on the forest floor. The wind ruffled my fur as I picked up speed. A part of me was afraid, yes. I could hear his footsteps miles behind me. I could hear that he was not running as fast as he could, which meant he was toying with me. I’d never been a particularly fast wolf when compared to others like Melissa who was the fastest wolf in our pack, so I knew for sure that he could catch me. I just didn’t think he would try. I underestimated his pride and anger.

One of them, a tall alpha with scars across his jaw, stepped forward. "First trial begins now," he announced. "Timed run through the woods. Each team must retrieve three marked flags. Teams stay paired at all times. Anyone caught alone forfeits the trial." Jason's stomach dropped. He was still assigned to Avalon, and the thought of spending hours alone with him in the forest made his skin crawl. But worse than that was the physical challenge ahead. A run through rough terrain meant sweating, and sweating meant his scent blocker would weaken. "Go back to your cabins," the instructor continued. "Freshen up, eat breakfast, then report back here in one hour."

His reaction was a mix of horror and complete astonishment. He stared at the terrifying figure from head to toe with his eyes wide open. Then, he began to become defensive and yelped, "Amaranth, where did you get something like this? You’re scaring me! You win, you win! I give up. Are you happy now? I promise to forgive you if you drop the act and come out now!" However, the only thing resembling a response was the suffocating air circulating inside the morgue. He listened to his voice echo inside the claustrophobic space.

“You are to climb a wooden wall without any rope, immediately followed by the Low-Shift Crawl!” She continued without pausing for breath. “Then, the Blood Scent Trail, a maze where only your nose will lead you to the exit. Followed by Scorched Sand! The only way to pass it is by either jumping high or enduring the searing heat as you walk through. Next, the Quicksand Pit, where the strength of your arms will be brutally tested. Then the easiest, the Silver Circuit, where you must ride a horse and use it to jump over hurdles lined with blades! Lastly, the Death Climb—a tall wooden platform you have to scale before you must jump into the Pool, which is the finish line.” I couldn't help but bli

Suddenly I realized that I was walking in the woods, it could have been a snake or spider, or worst a scorpion I would have encountered when that squirrel gave me a fright, suddenly I became scared. Turning back, I saw that I had walked far into the woods without even noticing it, I decided to turn back as I didn't want to get lost, but as I made my way back I realized that I was in fact actually lost, I didn't know which way I came from, this time around I began panicking and just to add to the wound, I didn't come out with the purse containing my phone, now getting married

"But I have a feeling you know exactly how to conquer it." He let his knuckles brush against my wrist as he checked my haptic band. The casual touch sent a violent, electric spark straight to my core. I didn't step back. I held his gaze, letting him see the feral hunger burning in my eyes. I wanted to win this game, but looking at him, I knew I wanted to break him, too. Franco finally stepped back, turning to the group. He held a flare gun in his right hand. "The rules are simple," Franco projected. "The first one to trigger the beacon at the summit wins the Social Tax. The last one to reach the halfway point by noon is eliminated from the living quarters. They become the Scavenger."

It was designed to shatter me into nothing. The final was dubbed the Gate of Torment. It was the lowest pit of Hell. Everything was either dead or in a constant state of decay. This was where the things of nightmares truly loved to play. I was their favorite chew toy. Whatever damage I incurred while asleep carried over to my body because it was the marvelous beauty of Hell. The cuts, scars, and damage were permanently etched onto my real body. They were great reminders of my new fucking reality.

"Thank you." I left the company and now I'm just wandering around when the rain poured. I looked up and glared at the sky. "Why do you have to rain, right now? Can't you see that I still don't find a place to stay?!" I hissed. I look crazy, I know. "Fuck my life!" I screamed in the middle of the road and in the middle of the rain.
