That left me with one option; Dwayne. I scrunched up my face in distaste; the last thing I wanted to do was ask him for help or about anything at all. He'd been a thorn in my side since the moment I have known him, like all he lived for was to see me provoked always. But I knew if I wanted to get answers, then I had to push my animosity aside and ask for help. So I did just that, pulling out my phone and typing out a quick message. "Hey, have you seen Mrs Meyers around? I haven't seen her since after dinner..." I hesitated for a moment, rethinking my decision, and quickly hit send before I changed my mind. I wasn't sure if Dwayne was going to respond anyway.

She blinks. “There?”

Gavin asked, searching my face as if the answers were right there. “I’m thinking…” I say, turning to look at him. “That we are going to crash a party.”

I would keep my grievances to myself. “I’m sorry I couldn’t attend your wedding. Where was I during that time?” he asked. I asked, my eyes scanning the surrounding area for any signs of surveillance. Isabel's brow furrowed. "It sounds like they're looking for something from you, Massimo. But what?" She echoed, and I knew we both were thinking the same thing. I shrugged. "I don't know, but I'm going to find out." I pulled out my phone and dialed a number, waiting for my contact to pick up. "Dallas, it's Massimo. I need you to look into something for me." I filled him in on the meeting invitation and the mysterious counselor. "See what you can dig up."

"Hi, can I ask a question??" I told a staff member I had noticed standing in the lobby area. He turned to me and smiled. "Hello, Sir. What can I do for you?" The staff asked. I peeked around again before speaking. "Did you see this woman who passed by here earlier? I've been looking for her for a while."

I search her face – that incredible face I should know – but from where? I close my eyes, summoning the will to ask the burning question. “Who are you?”

Were you spying on us?” Even though he asked this without looking at me, every single one of my cells are still determined not to let me look at him as I struggle to find the right answer.
