I knew that no matter what, it would leave yet another scar on my body. "Hideous… You look absolutely hideous, Meri." I mumbled, glaring at my scarred body in the mirror. The stitched gash and ugly scar on my right thigh were not the only markings on my body. There were others, many of them I learned to ignore over the years but still visible. The ones I have least bothered myself over were the two parallel dots on each wrist. Wounds that I received from Samael when he came to help with my headaches.

He held my blood in his mouth and gave me his own. My fingers graze the spot and I feel a scar that’s thick and raised. I rush over to the mirror as my jaw drops open. What the hell!? This isn’t a bite mark. Where I’m expecting teeth or puncture wounds, it looks like he branded me. There‘s a scar in the shape of a flower? It was already healed. Demetrius said he marked me. Gunner chuckled. Holy shit, this is a lot to take in. I lifted my hospital gown and looked down at my stomach. A small faint scar was sitting just below my ribcage. I gently traced my finger over the pale pink mark, it was completely healed. But why did it scar, all my old scars disappeared. Why hasn’t this one? There were burns, bullet scars, more knife and claw wounds, and, amid it all, the scar from her surgery.
