As he roars in pain, he let's go of my mouth, I stagger forward my head spinning as I scream and scream louder than I've ever screamed in my life. "Help..help….Makkan, Kyp help……." I stumble to the floor; the room spins as I hold my head. Makkan and Kyp come running into the room, just as Megan is being carried through the concealed doorway. "Quick, help Megan," I call out, as the door closes. Makkan and Kyp desperately try to break open the door, but it doesn't budge, and Megan is gone. Makkan calls out to the guards

Levi offers, missing the glare Mira is sending him. “We’ll go, won’t we, baby?” Megan is practically bouncing in her seat. I smile, nodding, wrapping my arm around her shoulder; I kiss the base of her neck. “Whatever you want, baby,” I murmur against her skin, and Megan sinks into me with a sigh. Mira’s hazel eyes dart from me to Megan, her lips set in a thin line. Up goes that challenging brow before she looks down at her menu, muttering something to herself.

“Why can’t you get this into your head? I can live my life, and you can also live yours the way you want, so can you stop already? You are stressing me out with all these drama.” Finally, after my long sermon, I heard the door clicking on the inside. “You are right,” Megan said as her face came in view, smiling in her pain. “I am the one at fault. I am the insipid fool that doesn’t take the hint that she can never be loved by a man like you.” “Megan…” I gasped from seeing her appearance. Her tears were black, probably because of the mascara she was wearing before she started crying. Her eyes looked lifeless, and her blonde hair was disheveled. She looked like she just came out of the eye of

They stand there in the center of the lobby, two small figures hand in hand, as the aggressive spring sun pours through the glass doors and illuminates the dust motes dancing in the air. Upstairs, Megan watches the lobby from the 14th-floor window, a tiny, dark silhouette looking down at the two people she just set free. The height makes them look like miniatures, a perfect, fragile tableau. She whispers to the cold glass, “I’m an absolute, total idiot.” Then she turns back to the shared desk, the silence of the office pressing in on her. She opens the "Gwen’s Surprise" document, scrolls down to the bottom, and hits backspace until the dog-paw balloons are gone. They were a terrible idea any

*The message* Dr. Emma Taylor's eyes widened as she stared at the cryptic message on her phone: "They're watching me. I have to escape." The words sent a chill down her spine. It was from her sister, Sarah, who had been missing for weeks. Emma's mind racing, she replayed the events leading up to Sarah's disappearance. They had been arguing about their estranged father, and Sarah had been acting strangely in the days before she vanished. Emma had dismissed it as paranoia, but now she wondered if something more sinister was at play.

But I couldn’t ignore the gaping hole left by the one word that destroyed us: stillbirth. I pulled in a deep breath, but it wasn’t enough. My chest squeezed tight. A panic attack surged over me. My palms went cold and clammy, my heartbeat too loud in my ears. I pressed my fist against my mouth, trying to muffle the sound threatening to escape me. And then she stirred. Megan’s eyelids fluttered open slowly, confusion clouding her eyes at first. She blinked at the bright hospital lights above her, squinting against them. Her lips parted, dry and cracked. For a brief moment, she looked around as though searching, as though her body knew what was missing before her mind caught up.

Her eyes are all puffy and swollen from all the crying she has done today. I feel like I failed her. Not once that Amy has been at her place that she has ever gone missing. Then she comes to my place and she goes missing. I can only imagine the pain that she is feeling losing her daughter. I do not like her but I would never wish her such a thing.

A few seconds later, the girl from Unit 602, Demi, replied in the group chat: [It's mine!! My limited-edition Dior makeup set! It cost $200! I was literally about to go downstairs and grab it! How is it gone already?!] The chat instantly blew up again. [Another package missing??] [@management are you guys seriously not doing anything about this?] [Who keeps stealing people's stuff?] I messaged Demi privately and got straight to it.
