Peering at him, I could see the deep pain it had caused him and told him I was sorry for his loss.
“Thanks, but just so you know, I understand what you are feeling now,” he said softly, and I studied his features. He had small braids in his long, white hair with feathers, silver beads with green gems embedded that matched his eye color, and leather cords attached.
Creasing my brow, I asked curiously why his hair was styled as it was, and his lip curled slightly.
