She made holes in the cellophane with a knife and stuck it on to do its thing. She’d decided to go back through her dissertation and old notes to come up with something. Waves of nostalgia washed through her as she remembered her time at university. A lot of her course mates hadn’t really been too fussed about getting good marks, they just wanted to party. Miranda genuinely loved history though, and thoroughly enjoyed studying the subject. So many people were obsessed with celebrity culture, especially any outrageous behaviour. What a lot of them didn’t realise though, was that history was essentially a lot of scandalous events all linked together. The Tudors was a perfect example of this, w

Such a sweet story! Happy with how it ended, although the ending felt kind of rushed and sudden... any chance there will be a sequel of some kind or at least a few bonus chapters for an update? That would be awesome author!! Either way, great job 😊

BLOOD BOUND

BLOOD BOUND

But Aurora imagined what Sera would say: Stop whining and find new work that fits who you are now instead of who you were. Fair point, even if imaginary. Aurora started writing seriously. Not academic papers or policy briefsmemoir. Documenting integration's first fifty years from inside. Personal perspective on systemic change. Honest account of victories and failures, progress and setbacks, hopes and disappointments. "You're writing history," Marcus observed, reading draft chapters. "I'm writing memory. Different thing. History is objective record. Memory is subjective experience. Integration needs both." The writing consumed her. Sixteen-hour days at computer, excavating memories she'd sup

The Haven Of Shadows

The Haven Of Shadows

She insisted she had but Lucien remained unconvinced. Even Ragnar accepted a second helping. Nobody commented. Doing so felt dangerous. The First Hollowed sat quietly beside Eamon. The historian showed him several sketches copied from ancient manuscripts. Occasionally the old warrior nodded. Occasionally he frowned. Sometimes...He simply whispered, "I almost remember." No one rushed him. Memories had become seeds. Seeds could not be forced to bloom.

The Billionaires 10th Bride

The Billionaires 10th Bride

The past would always be part of me. The memories would always exist. The people we lost would always have a place in my heart. But I no longer carried those memories like chains. I carried them like lessons. That was something I never thought I would be able to say. The letter arrived on an ordinary morning. There was nothing dramatic about it. No warning. No hidden message. No mystery waiting to be uncovered. Just a simple letter from a young historian who had been studying the records preserved at the Museum of Memory. At first, I stared at the envelope for a long time.

Memoires of a mafia princess

Memoires of a mafia princess

It was weird to be here again after so long, it didn't feel like my house, I doubted if any place could ever feel like home. It didn't take me more than twenty minutes to give everything a place. Two of the bags were clothes, one box was filled with just books, spread over the two boxes since the weight would have been too heavy for one box, one half of a box was makeup and everything needed to take care of myself and one half was letters I had received in juvie. The last bag was only CDs.

Forbidden Lessons

Forbidden Lessons

“Ian, can I ask you something?” “Of course,” I replied, my heart quickening with a mix of curiosity and nervousness. “Why do you care so much about history?” she asked, her gaze searching mine. “You seem to know so much, and you speak about it with such passion.” I hesitated, choosing my words carefully. “History is the story of humanity,” I said slowly. “It’s a tapestry of triumphs and tragedies, lessons and legacies. Understanding it helps us make sense of the present and guides us as we shape the future.”

Latent Memoirs

Latent Memoirs

The necklace was with me since then, but I didn't know where that necklace came from since my memories from the past were gone. That would be my biggest revelation, why my memories aren't present? Why couldn't I remember anything from the past? Even a single memory with my parents. I didn't know, but I'll find the answers soon. The necklace was beautiful it has some white diamonds in it. Well, though I wanted to buy that I didn't have much money, even a penny except for the money Hildred gave me. "Do you want that?" I was just shocked when I heard his voice. He's so close to me, whispering to my ears.

THE REJECTED LUNA

They actually have good memories of him in this place. Just a few feet away, a small tucked away archive displayed his existence… just a single detached paragraph. Some eras of his life were documented in an almost obsessive detail–his daily routines, his correspondence and some of his triumphs. To me, it actually felt like they physically removed history to hide the darker truth.

Memory of the Wronged

Memory of the Wronged

After a short rest, they sat down again and put their helmets back on. Mr. Wilson gently wiped away my tears and began another round of hypnosis. “Miss Lily,” he said in a calm voice, “you and Miss Emily are sisters. Tell me, what is the one thing you remember most clearly about her?” The thing I remembered most clearly? My memories began to blur, and the dream twisted into chaos. I couldn’t steady it right away because there were too many moments burned into my mind, each one sharp and impossible to forget. They surfaced in fragments, scattered and broken.

The Heiress he never met

The Heiress he never met

"Watching strangers study our family's history as though it were any other historical case. I wonder if it ever feels like they're missing something, all the academic language and the careful frameworks, compared to what it actually felt like, living through it." "Sometimes," Elena admitted. "I think academic language is useful for understanding patterns, for building models other institutions can learn from. But you're right that it misses something essential. It doesn't capture what it actually felt like, sitting with my mother while she decided whether to trust a stranger with the truth. It doesn't capture the fear, or the relief, or the particular, hard-won joy of watching a buried truth
