Samantha's with me, I didn't want to risk her life but, with what happened a while ago, she's at risk. The memories were still hunting her every time she hears gunshots and things involving violence she would space out or hallucinate. She panicked a while ago and now, she's sleeping on my shoulder. I guess the past was still a dark room for her, it left her unhealed scars. She couldn't let go of it. I was like her when my parents died. The scenery I witnessed kept on bothering me every time I closed my eyes but a mafia boss couldn't be weak, so I tried my very best to remove those memories from me and finally move on from it.

We may have lived on two separate sides of the island but was all this loss and grief worth it just to bring vampires and humans together? It's bizarre how my old life felt like a million lifetimes ago, like it was just a dream and not really my own past life. Would I even remember much of it in a hundred years…. In one hundred and fifty years? Will my parents faces, and the memories of my childhood still be alive in my mind, or will it all eventually fade away?

What was I in my past life? A serial killer?

He said hoarsely with a voice that contained anger. I nodded my head. “I'm sure that they already retained their memories just like ours. Since the Lord God won't do something unfair treatment. I'm sure that if we ever retained our memories back, it would also be the same with Patrick and Marva. However, those people who died in the past because of the war, don't need to retain their memories since they got their life back in this life, while those who were alive in that time—which are less than a hundred, will also continue to live until the end even if there would be any war that would happen in this life. Am I right, dear?”

She explains it like remembering scenes from a television show or movie. The witches believe the more she practices through her life, the more connected she will become to the memories and they will become important to her. She may even remember it in her next lifetime. She has learned so much about her past, that it's helping shape who she wants to be moving forward. It has made her realize that the years she suffered abuse in this life were such a tiny part of her journey as a whole. It's only important in this lifetime, it will always be something she remembers, but it doesn't define her life or future lives.

Tasha opened her eyes, she sat on the bed and frowned her face, confused. "Where am I?" She scanned the room, and she was surprised to see herself in her room. "How did I end up here?" She troubled her head to recollect how she ended up in her room, but she remembered nothing. She tried to stand up, but she was too weak to stand up, and she took a deep breath. Malachi came, smiling, with a cup of tea in his hands. “You open your eyes already?”

The universe definitely had a sick sense of humor. "How do we do that? How do we remember?" Solana finally uttered, her voice small. The fear in her eyes gutted me. "Your names from back then. They're triggers. If you can remember what your names used to be in any of your previous lives, the rest will eventually come to you." I didn't have time to process her statement before another wave of agony ripped through my skull. I lowered my head to the counter with a grunt, my ears ringing. 'Let me in.' That voice came again.

Even in her past life, whenever she had gotten even the barest hint of this scent, her mind had been flooded with so much nostalgia for her time here, and it was no different now. It sort of made sense, because she had technically already lived this life, and she had all of her memories from her time here before, even though she had gone back to this time period and had yet to make those memories in actuality, the paradox didn’t seem to affect her memories too much. All sorts of memories ran through her mind, the good times as well as the bad, and she chuckled softly to herself as she walked, reminiscing freely, hoping to pick up some clues that may be buried somewhere deep in her memory.
