My fingers caressed the colored notes in my hands and the familiar feeling of longing overwhelmed me. FLASHBACK NARRATIVE ~16 years ago~ *Aidan's Elementary School* A little boy ran into the class of about fifteen kids. "Y'all!" He called the attention of his mates. "I heard 'boo hoo' couldn't get his fees paid. Boo-hoo!" He went to stand in front of a petite boy of around the same age as himself, blocking the little boy's view and taking his books from him.

"Why is your phone not connecting?" Before I could answer, he continued, "Anyway, I've got the holiday prep all sorted. Anything else you want? I'll have my assistant grab it." His words triggered a memory: the year Mamie died. I'd gone home, but on Christmas Eve, I video-called him to wish him happy holidays. It took ages for him to answer; the screen was dark at first, showing only a fading ember from his cigarette. "Yeah?" he rasped. As the screen adjusted to the light, I saw he was alone on the balcony, surrounded by scattered bottles and cigarette butts. Outside, the world was alive with lights and fireworks, but that joy seemed worlds away from him.

Tasha opened her eyes, she sat on the bed and frowned her face, confused. "Where am I?" She scanned the room, and she was surprised to see herself in her room. "How did I end up here?" If we see something once, we can identify it again, even years later.” That floored me. “That’s insane,” I said, proceeding toward the island, seriously impressed, thinking of how I would never have to study over and over again.

“You know this isn’t going to be easy, right? We don’t even know where to start. The bar’s CCTV was broken. The staff probably don’t even remember her clearly. And you… you barely remember anything.” I ran a hand through my hair, closing my eyes. The memory was sharp, searing, and maddening. Her hands… her lips… the way she moved against me as if she had owned me before we even met. My wolf snarled in frustration. We remember. We never forget. We claim.

“Let’s just watch tv and forget the world for a while okay?” She put the tv on and chose a movie I had never seen. But I couldn’t focus. All I kept seeing where flashes of my memories. Part of me wanted to forget, but I also wanted to remember more. So I could see the full picture. Especially everything that happened in the cabin. I didn’t want to go down for dinner, so I stayed in my room and told Mary to go down and eat, tell the rest I wasn’t feeling well. And omega was sent over with some food.

Eddison clears his throat. “You remember that?” “Of course I remember that. It was a big day, and it was the first time we went fishing in-” The realization hits me. It might be confusing, but with the help of your friends I think it should be okay in a few days.” He said looking at Misty and Carlos. “You two need to make sure you are feeding her information that might help spark a few memories.”

I mumbled as I stared at his dark nearly black eye lids that made him look tired. The sigh that the doctor made told me that he didn’t approve of my observation. “Bella we are trying to get your memories back. So I need you to try.” He said as he handed me the card. “I did try.” I grumbled. “It’s a brown bear.” He stated as he picked up another card. I pressed my lip because there were too many things in the world and I couldn’t know what they all were if I had only two weeks of memories.
