“Can you think of anybody that would want to hurt Eric? Professionally, personally, anyone at all?” “N-n-no,” she stammered. “Nobody comes to mind.” Officer Greene returned to her side. “Your parents and Kathy are all on the way, okay?” She nodded, whispering, “Thanks.” “I have to ask these next ones, Maddie, and I apologize. How was your marriage? Any problems between you two?” “I still love him,” she wailed. “But I haven’t been happy in years. I went to see a lawyer yesterday. Eric’s coming home Friday… was… was coming home Friday.”

“Almost.” Meredith sighed. Then she wondered if this was day one what else were they going to do. Whatever it was, she needed a treadmill pronto. While she was contemplating this Brayden was watching her expressions for the Meredith he had read on paper and met in the elevator and had dinner with and married. “What are you thinking?” They had made a vow to be honest to each other to make the Death Contract work. But neither of them really had anything to hide from the other. “That I need to get on a treadmill,” Meredith responded looking out her window. She had her elbow up against the side and her left hand propping up her with her right resting on the seat beside her.

"But I believe that we are fine now and that this will not happen again, isn't it?" The nurse cries out loud and just nods approvingly. "Disappear!" Max says and comes near Meredith and takes her in his arms. "You are ferocious!" he whispered in her ear. "And you were a manwhore!" She said annoyed by everything that happened and Max whitened his face.

Finishing his touch-up work, Nick rose from the camper’s dinette seat, intending to return to the truck’s cab and follow up on another search area when movement beyond the grungy scratched windows caught his eye. Mark Radkovick, his former IT security tech, was walking out of the hospital chatting and smiling between two women, a cute chunky blonde and, on his opposite side, the other unmistakable petite and spectacularly lovely woman was Teri. Stunned by his good fortune and her miraculous appearance, Nick ducked out of sight from the window, watching covertly from behind a tattered curtain. He cursed, seeing the group laugh, Teri’s head tipped back exposing the graceful perfect stretch of

Derek faced Kaiden “No offense but what is Meredith doing here?” He asked. “Well-” Kaiden said and paused, realization dawned on both lovers, they gasped in surprise. “No fucking way!” “Fuck sake!” Kaiden rolled his eyes, yeah, he is used to their cussing.

Terri sat staring at the jewelry, not even catching how he seemed to have choked up on the words. “Oh Nick!” She wiped her eyes than giggled as he took the necklace off and put it on her, turning her head for a kiss. ----- They made their way into the room, their hands roaming all over each other as the passion seemed to flare up between them. And as they tumbled onto the bed, their clothes flying, three people silently prayed at the drugs that were taking that night would help their own cause.

The crowd cracked a peal of laughter, camera flashes going off at us. Meredith was uneasy. While I was used to this, she wasn't. I reached for her palm and held it in mine, maintaining my straight gaze at the camera and crowd. “We're in love, and whoever came up with such news is just a purveyor of unhappiness. Thank you for your time. Goodnight.” Thousands of questions came flying at us. As much as I could take, I began to answer. It got to the fourth person, and Meredith's uneasiness grew. His eyes behind the glass had been as sharp as a hawk's. "Meredith and I share a purely professional work relationship." I had been naive enough to believe his words at the time, which convinced them that I was an easy target for their lies. They grew bolder after the confrontation, the topics of their conversations turning even more explicit. The "Mr. Westin" that Elias mentioned had to be Oliver. He must have met Oliver, and he must have treated Elias very well. But why did Meredith look so panicked after Elias
