the Patriarch shouted loudly. The expert hastily replied, "My Lords, we have discovered an army of the Mermaid Clan in the sea up ahead. They're pressing in. Should we prepare for war?" "What? "A mermaid fleet?" The experts of the Ceroman Clan were all shocked. The Mermaid Clan was the royal clan of the Sea Clan in the Seven Seas. They were powerful. It was said that they were the closest to the Sea God in the past. They had always hated the Ceroman Clan. There were many conflicts between the two clans. Basically, the Ceroman Clan had never won. When the Ceroman Clan heard that the army of the Mermaid Clan was approaching, their hearts were in their mouths.

It has to have at least twenty rooms inside of it. “Holy shit!” The words burst from my mouth before I can stop them. Jory chuckles beside me, “I take it you’re impressed?” Glancing over at him, my eyes are wide, “Who all lives here?” He shrugs, “Just me, Merk, and our other best friend, who you will meet at some point.” I look over at Man Bun, “You’re Merk, I take it?” “It’s Merrick. Only two people call me Merk.” He smiles at me, “You, Baby doll, will call me Sir. Master will work too, but I have a feeling that you may have a problem with that.” He muses.

Harlyn called my name her gaze tentatively and defensively on Merari. “Hello, dear,” the beautiful woman greeted Harlyn. “Who are you?” Harlyn asked without hesitation. Merari simply smiled at her. “Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. Forgive me, but I just had to see Caris’s little miracle baby,” she approached and her hand hovered over my daughter’s features and for a second I did not trust what she’d do to her. Then she retracted. “What a pretty little thing you are,” she said and then sighed. “My name is Merari, dear, Merari Van Doren” she finally answered Harlyn's question. “And to answer the question that your father is too cowardly to answer, yes…it was Valene.”

The merfolk royal swam over toward me. I stood very still, continuing to grip on Nicholas’s arm. The merfolk cleared his throat. I braced myself, unsure if he would speak in a language I would recognize. Despite any potential awkwardness here, I certainly didn’t want to be rude. “My lady,” the merfolk royal said, eliminating my worry. The merfolk, it seemed, were trained in English better than we were trained in their language. “My name is Prince Ronan. I am the eighth son of our Queen Sonal.”

Part of him wanted to bear the weight of those who had departed before him and make them proud, living a life happier than anyone could imagine. From a safe distance, they watched as the Mer played in the shallow waters near the beach and saw several shift into their legged selves in order to run across the sand. “Oh, look,” Meguitte said, pointing in wonder at a Merman who sat upon a rock, his frilled tail toying in the water, as he combed his long blue hair out. His eyes caught Meguitte’s gesture, and he bared sharply pointed teeth in a grin that was equally flirtatious and dangerous. “Look there,” Thaelen chuckled. “Between the rocks. I guess that answers how Merfolk f-k.” “Thaelen,” she nudged him in the ribs. “Shhh. Don’t be so crude.”
