A Love Without Anchor
He grimaced, his face turning pale as he gasped out a few words, "It hurts. My post-surgery wound—it really hurts. Please, don't get angry, it's bad for the baby…"
Elizabeth took a deep breath. She withdrew her hand, her teeth clenched.
"If you weren't the father of this child, I'd kill you right now. You should be grateful for that."
Connor panted heavily, his eyes flickering with guilt.
The hotel manager rushed up to the third floor. He pressed a remote control, but the screen remained unresponsive. In the end, they had no choice but to cut the power.
And so, the spectacle ended in an uneasy silence.
