Battles broke out periodically as the Order sought to prevent them from returning above ground and scheme to seize control of the planet. Earth was divided into sections, with a representative of the New World Order dictating each one. Our dictator, Bartholomew Muse, was younger than most and eager to prove himself by showing his strength and power over the people. He put a new meaning to the word tyrant. This resulted in rebellion. Many turned their support toward the remnants of the Brotherhood of Man.

She said, nodding her head. Machine sighed and shook his head. He didn’t know if he could take more. Margo’s hard glare made him pause as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He turned another page and continued reading. His eyes went wide and as he continued to read. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Each person was worse and worse than the one before. The crimes were nothing but heinous. He looked up at Margo with wide panicked eyes when he came to the very last person on the list.

But this was not what Caitlin wanted: she needed to heal Scarlet, not kill her. As she finished yet another book and slid it aside, with still no mention of healing anywhere, she began to feel a sense of despair. She lifted the final book on the stack, a small, leather-bound volume with a red spine, entitled De Fascino Libri Tres by Leonardo Vairo. Caitlin summoned her knowledge of Latin, and knew that translated to: Three Books of Charms, Spells and Sorceries.

And she had sent Iris out into the rain without warning her. What could she have even said anyway? Oh yeah, I know you think Cyber’s dead, but he’s not. SURPRISE. “Mommy?” Violet's blue eyes peered at me from beneath her lashes as I stepped through the front door. Her young face creased with worry, but, God, it was good to see her again. The last few months had been hell. The club was in turmoil with Fang going into hiding. He couldn't be seen if he was meant to be dead.

he muttered. Houseshoe’s mouth twitched. “See. He gets it.” Doc’s voice cut through the cabin. “Five mikes.” The light above the hatch shifted from red to amber. My instincts tightened. Not fear. Readiness. My world narrowed down to mission parameters in a way that felt familiar, almost comforting. When you were deployed, you didn’t have room to spiral. You had tasks. You had timing. You had a team that trusted you to be exactly who you were trained to be.

Once I do that and get a low grade like 89, I will be disappointed because I didn’t reach 90. My forehead wrinkled when my notebooks and make-up were scattered on my desk. “Goodness! Why did I forget to clean my mess before I go to school?” I whisper and shook my head. I open my bag and take my phone to check if my mom is on her social media account but to my surprise, the news appears in my newsfeed that makes my mouth part. “Adelaide Viamonte finally open her museum in Las Vegas.” A smile appears on my lips due to the headline. Her fans can now finally see her artwork and take a picture of it. This is the reason why I’m trying to manage my time and enhance my talent so that I can also show

They had gone down there, and had not come back up. Kyle swallowed hard, and walked faster. He had always believed that it was best to greet bad news quickly, and get it over with. They came to a large, open door, guarded by several vampires, who stared coldly back. Finally, they stepped aside and opened the door. But after Kyle passed, they held out their staffs, preventing his entourage from following. Kyle felt the door slam behind. Kyle saw dozens of vampires lined up, at attention, along the wall, standing quietly on either side of the room. Front and center in the room, seated in a massive, metal chair was Rexus, his supreme leader.

The town was his for the taking. Kyle lifted his chin, listening, sensing, closing his eyes. He could sense Caitlin’s presence strongly in this city. And Caleb’s. Sam, he wasn’t so sure about, but he knew that at least the two of them were here. That was good. Now all he had to do was find them. He would come upon them by surprise, and, he imagined, kill them both quite easily. Paris was a much simpler place. There was no grand vampire Council, like in Rome, that he had to answer to. Even better, there was a strong evil coven here, led by Napoleon. And Napoleon owed him.
