All I can hear is a ticking clock, but I don’t know where it is coming from. “Midnight is coming,” a voice whispers. “Run while you can.” She asks if I can hear that, but I’m not sure what to tell her. “I can, but where is it coming from? We are on a bridge in the middle of the woods.” Valeria holds me tighter. “Kendric, we have to find out what midnight means. There’s something behind it.” I wake with a jolt, unsure of what in the world just happened. Valeria stirs by my side, her eyes wide with panic. “Kendric, were you dreaming again? You mumbled something about midnight and were shouting my name at one point. What was it?”

Every pack began to hear of the incredible child that had recently been born into the Midnight pack, placing the pack on high alert. Nine months passed and it seemed as though tension with other packs was starting to relax. They seemed to take the news of this child as a gift and not something to fear. Still, security around the small town of Atlas, the home of the Midnight pack, didn’t let up. Patrols were sent out every night, twice as many warriors as there used to be all to ensure the child was kept safe.

Hence, she put it back in its spot among other dusty books and walked to another shelf. She came across a couple of other books but she knew none of them will give her any information on what she sought after; ‘Moon Goddess' Mate’ by U. Tipper, ‘The Hybrid's special Guide’ by L. O. Klark, ‘Tribid Greed’ by Steve Reynolds, and a lot of other books.

It wasn't long before she found out that she could read everything despite very slowly. Moving forward into the darkness, the sound of the air swizzled, taking her hair back as she walked. One will wonder what such a young child was doing there at that time of the night when everyone had gone to bed and everywhere was quiet. Even an adult wouldn't think of coming here in the daylight.
