Something about a bridge being nearby is the only thing I can remember. Suddenly, the world swirls and I’m standing on that bridge with Kendric. “I fell off the cliff and then ended up here. This was our third life, for sure.” Kendric looks over at me with a confused expression. “Are you seeing this too?” A ticking clock sounds from somewhere nearby and I look around to see where it’s coming from. “Do you hear that?” A voice comes out of nowhere from somewhere above us. “Midnight is coming. Run while you can.”

Right before I lost all consciousness, I saw those strange floating words in front of me again. [The side character has died such a tragic death. The villain will surely go crazy.] [My god! How could they do that to my favorite villain pairing? They are so much more believable than the main characters!] When I opened my eyes once more, the pain had completely vanished. I subconsciously looked at the clock on the wall. Midnight. Comments appeared in front of me again. [Don't open the window! There's no cat outside! It's a serial killer!]

The room is dark (I always sleep with the lights off), but a sliver of moonlight filters in through the partially open window by my bedside, and illuminates the room a little. Despite my unease earlier, I had been sleeping deeply, until whatever sound it is that woke me up, came. A quick glance at the bedside clock shows that it is a little past midnight already. Charles still isn’t back, so I listen carefully, wondering if it is the sound of him coming back that woke me up, but the cabin is as silent as death, which is no surprise, seeing as it’s past midnight already.

Hence, we will be cutting them into Book 2 and Book 3. The books will be attached to Riley and Adrian's novel. Since I already had Charlie’s story in mind, we will start with her. We will skip years into the timeline when Charlie is already in college, experiencing an independent life in another city.
