Professor Dearest

The air in my throat is fucking tight when I make it to the motel. I find Charlie reading a book I got for her yesterday from one of the other girls at the club.
“Hey, Lettie,” she smiles softly as she closes the book, sliding out of the bed and swaying a little to meet me.
I grab each side of her arms, stabilizing her before leading her back to the bed.
“You need to heal, Charlie, not run around the room. What if you pass out when I’m not here?” I ask touching her head, feeling her temperature.
