I bid my final goodbye before turning to leave. I got in my car, I was dreading going home. I'm too scared to be faced with the reality that I'm alone again. I let out a sigh before turning on the engine and making my way home. It didn't take long before I reached the driveway. I turned off the engine and stayed in the car for a few minutes before mustering the courage to get out. As soon as I opened the doors to the house, I was met with an eerie silence. "Fuck this," I say before slamming the door shut behind me as I exit the house.

She glanced up sharply as a familiar pair of voices drifted through the cavernous hush. "I'm just saying, if we're really going to retrofit that old bunker into an off-grid command center, I better not end up stuck scrubbing mildew off the bathroom grouts with a toothbrush again." Mia's familiar rasp filtered in first, bristling with her signature cocktail of aggravated snark and mule-headed defiance. The light from the moon filtered into the hallway. "Do you think you can find your way back to your room?" He asked Mia with hushed tones. "Oh yes I can." She replied. "Alright then, goodnight." He said and walked off in the opposite direction of the hallway. Mia walked a little forwards towards her room. "You're late." She stopped in her tracks at the sound of the stern voice behind her. She turned back to see the flash of Aaron's bright amber eyes. He was shielded by the shadows which the light of the moon casted on the hallway.

“Well, that’s because—” “Because I snore!” I said quickly. “Really loud! Like a big bear! Grrrrr!” I made a silly growl noise, and Mia laughed. “You do?” she asked, not sure if she believed me. “Super loud,” Lennox added fast, going along with it. “Like thunder.” “I wanna hear it!” Mia said excitedly. “Only when I’m really asleep,” I said, tapping her nose. “You’ll have to catch me snoring one day.”

I said as I crossed my arms in front of my chest. "I love mint choco." He said and I stopped. "Disgusting!" I hissed and he laughed. "Why is that disgusting? It's good." "I feel like brushing my teeth when I eat that flavour." I shook my head. "Do you have a pet?" He asked. "I have a black labrador at home. How about you?" "Really? I have a labrador too!" The sky matched her mood, dark, warning, storming quietly. She pressed the buzzer. She didn't need to wait because Lucas was at the door almost immediately.
