“There’s nothing to see!” I protested, but she was already brushing my hair aside.
“Go check the mirror,” she said, eyes dancing. “Tell me if I’m wrong.”
I turned toward her dressing mirror, the glass catching the light. My breath caught. A faint tattoo shimmered just below my collarbone: a black wolf, snarling, its eyes gold, the initials A.K. burning beneath it like a secret brand.
My knees went weak. “Eva,” I whispered. “When did I get a tattoo? I… I didn’t.”
