Mila POV After Nick kicked me out of the hospital, I needed to go get a drink. I drive to the nearest bar so that I can cool off and be able to think about a way that I can get rid of Mariah and her pups. Nick must be mine and no one is going to mess up my plans to become Nick’s Luna. I arrive at the bar after a short ride; I park close to the entrance; I grab my phone and head inside. The smell of alcohol and sex hits me as soon as I walk in. I make my way to the bar and sit on one of the stools.

Sydney I was still smiling as I moved towards the bar. A hand stopped me, and I whipped around to face Mike. "Gosh, you scared me!" I spoke. He inquired, "Where were you?" I explained, "I was just out for some fresh air." "What happened earlier? That man. You know who he was?" Mike asked. I nodded, "Aiden Rainer, the CEO of the Reiner group." "How do you know him?" "He took my interview, and I refused the offer," I sighed.

I asked. Nate grinned. “My Uncle Micky owns a bar, and he’d let me help out when it got busy.” “How ever did you manage to get away with that?” I thought I heard a hint of sarcasm in Kimia’s voice. Nate leaned toward Kimia, and she and I leaned a bit toward him. “Uncle Micky’s wife’s nephew hooked me up with a fake ID so he wouldn’t get shut down for hiring a minor,” he whispered. “Sounds. . .shady,” Kimia responded.

The fragile peace they’d been living in for the past week and a half felt like thin ice—beautiful on the surface, but ready to crack with one wrong step. “Yo, boss lady,” Mikey called from across the bay, his voice cracking with that awkward teenage enthusiasm. The nineteen-year-old prospect was sprawled dramatically across a workbench, pretending to fan himself with an oily rag. “If you keep making these bikes sound like angry demons, I’m gonna start thinking you sold your soul to the devil. Or worse—Reaper’s dick.”

Imogen This club/bar is really something else. We got picked up by the limo and a driver who calls himself Mikey Mike. Cute. Actually, he was such a sweetheart like a gentle giant with his bald head, gold hoop earring in his left ear and broad body but with the largest toothy grin you could possibly imagine. He held the door open for us and made sure Autumn and I were comfortable before driving off. Mikey Mike pointed out there was champagne on ice and some snacks if we fancied them.

He takes Jessica’s hand and pulls her to the bar as I return to my office and gawk at them through the mirrored glass. The way Mikey has with women is something of wonder. He always makes them feel confident and special. He is like that with everyone, really. That’s why I wanted him to manage the club- he is a terrific people person. But as I watch him touch Jessica and stand behind her, teaching her how to pour the bourbon, fire sparks inside me. I have never been jealous of any girl Mikey has ever had before, but I am jealous right now. My office door opens, startling me, and Mindy smirks, catching me in the act of eye-stalking, “What are you doing, boss?” she asks me, grinning. I shake my

Mike muttered. “It's fine,” Martinez replied, a smile on her face. “It is nice to meet you anyway. I believe you are a good friend of Julian.” “I am,” Mike nodded. “My name is Mike, just in case you don't know. I am the CEO of Holly lounge. I'm a rich guy, just in case you wonder how I hang out with Julian.” I couldn't hold myself back from laughing. “Don't mind the clown,” I told Martinez. “But to be honest, he started as a bartender. He wasn't always rich.”
