At the far end of the room, a broken shard of glass reflected faint light. Aria’s gaze drifted toward it. She stepped closer. And then she saw herself. Her breath caught in her throat. Her eyes glowed like burning embers. Her hair shone silver white. Tiny sparks of electricity danced through the strands. She looked like someone else. Like something else. Fear rushed through her. She staggered backward, reaching out blindly for support. Her hand struck the small wooden table beside her. The moment her palm touched it Ice exploded outward from her fingers. Cracks of frost raced across the surface of the table.

My hair fell sideways, giving me a soft, almost fairy-like look. ‘Good morning. My name is Evans Halls, and I’m the newly signed artist. I was asked to be here today for the contract.’ I approached the receptionist politely. ‘Oh yes, it’s by 8:30 a.m. You still have five minutes. You can have a seat or go into the boss’s office, just by the left wing upstairs.’ She smiled. ‘Okay, thanks.’ The entire building looked fascinating; almost unreal, like something designed by AI. I chuckled to myself as I walked up and stopped in front of the office door.

If Cayden and I had just stopped in to say hi, she would have come and given me a hug, but much like my father, she differentiates between her daughter Scarlett and her Alpha Scarlett. “Alpha Scarlett, Beta Cayden. Is everything okay?” She asks, her big green eyes wide with concern and her chocolate brown hair still slightly damp from a shower. It’s like looking into a mirror and seeing my future self. And I’ll tell you, I could do a lot worse. My mother still turns heads and is still a beast on the sparring fields. I’ve never seen her in an actual battle, but I have no doubt she can still kickass.

] My AI greeted me. "Good evening, Cho," I responded. [Please take your shoes off and come in.] "Thank you." As expected, Minseok followed my lead, leaving his shoes in the shoe cubbies. My AI, named C.H.O. - Cognitive Household Organizer, was a holographic lady. She bore a striking resemblance to a young Korean woman, her long black hair neatly tied in a ponytail and adorned with bangs. Her name came from her ability to mimic human speech, which she did flawlessly. The majority of people found it creepy, but Minseok didn't seem bothered at all. In fact, he seemed fascinated by her.

Numerous display cases boasted relics of the old world in conditions she had up to then only dreamed were possible. They had everything. Mika's eyes scanned the relics, trying to identify them. "You have a music player?" she cried, falling to her knees. "What sort of music do you have?" Kai cocked his head to the side before raising an eyebrow and shrugging. "All types. What do you like?" A shadow fell over Mika, and she looked up to him looming over her. 'He's figured me out,' she thought. 'He's going to kill me now.'

"Where did that even come from? Madeline? Why the hell would she even have my contact?" Mika laughs as well. "Sorry, I just wanted to make you smile or laugh or something. Don't be so busy, hm?" She taps his hand, her banana band aid showing brightly and they both look at it at the same time. Then they burst into laughter. "Maybe I should have picked the skull one after all. It looks so bright and yellow." Mika laughs. "At least I'm the one carrying it on my finger. I'm pretty sure this colour will draw all eyes to my fingers from now. Pretty funny."

He pushed the folder to her, which made Mariko grin. Mariko opened the folder and frowned. Project X. Mariko saw a picture of a 4-year-old kid wearing an overall pink jumpsuit with long white sleeves underneath while holding a white bunny plush toy. She's like a living doll, with her hair tied up into two buns. Her chubby cheeks were pinkish, and her skin was as white as snow. She was smiling, which made her eyes twinkle. But in her profile, there was nothing written, only her name and her age.

Until recently, she had forgotten how essential and happy music used to be in her life. She held the acoustic wooden guitar in her hands and started to strum as she thought about the memory. It only took her a few minutes to get used to playing again, but she was utterly lost in the melody once she did. It was like seeing a dear old friend again after a long time and being able to connect emotionally right away, no matter how long it had been. Even though the alpha owns her, she still has her own life. Not everyone she met here was terrible or mean to her. Many of them cared about her, especially Millie and Lilac, even though she didn't know what she had done to deserve their kindness. She w

He's gotten wiggly in the last couple of months. She quirks an eyebrow at me. "So are you going to tell me why some random kid came up and got a selfie with you?" "It happens sometimes because of my job." She gives me a confused look. "He asked for my autograph. I'm a soccer player. I play for the Mutiny. The kid was just excited to meet a professional player." Quincy sits up straight, like she's shocked by my revelation, but she recovers quickly. "That explains the overly muscular calves, I guess."
