Not with this cursed band strangling the soul out of me. So I stared, cold and unmoved, letting my silence speak the promise my mouth never could: One day, I will destroy you. One of the books shifted slightly on the table, falling open just enough to reveal images—hand-drawn wolves with glowing, mournful eyes and shattered jaws. Caged. Silenced. Like me. His eyes flicked to the page with casual malice. “These talk about wolves who defied their mates,” he said, like he was discussing a bedtime story.

“She has them tangled. The entire kingdom would be distracted. They will not see us coming until we are already inside them.” The Shadow God turned his head toward the book. “And this?” I picked it up. The leather was warm, which was wrong in this cold. “The Book of Wolves.” “Open it.” I did. The first pages smelled like dust. The writing moved when I wasn’t looking at it, shifting like insects under glass. It spoke of the Aurion wolves. Noble. Bound to the sun. Keepers of law. It spoke of the Noctaryn wolves. Ruthless. Bound to the moon. Keepers of teeth. And then it spoke of someone who had decided to be different.

As we walked, the soft thud of our footsteps echoed through the solemn space. Jeremiah, a wise and weathered wolf with a graying muzzle, carried an ancient book in his hands. Its leather cover was worn, its pages yellowed with age. We reached a magnificent wooden table, carved with the same designs, and Jeremiah gently placed the book upon it. "Lyra," he began, his voice deep and resonant, "this book holds the secrets of our pack's legacy, and within its pages lies the tale of the Silver Werewolf." My curiosity piqued, I leaned in closer, my eyes fixed on the book. "Tell me, Jeremiah," I said, my voice filled with anticipation. "What is the story of the Silver Werewolf?"

Mila’s P.O.V. Wolfsbane. A silver bullet, laced with wolfsbane. “This is it Mila, this is where we die” I thought to myself. “Don’t you dare give up on me Mila, we have come too far for this” Tae said to me, she was my wolf, and she was mighty. Much more than I ever deserved. “MILA!!! Don’t you dare leave me Mila, don’t you dare die on me. You CANNOT LEAVE ME. I WON’T LET YOU!” This voice was familiar, I tingled at the sound, like a choir on Christmas day. This man, was mine. But it was too late, I was doomed for sure.

As I closed the distance, the smell of decay blew my way, and I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Whoever was on our land was close. Just as I was about to grab Maddie, a scrawny and sickly wolf skidded around the house, foam dripping from its muzzle. My eyes burned as I felt my beast come forward, needing to protect our baby. Maddie stumbled with surprise as I jumped over her head, shifting mid-air into my wolf and colliding with the rogue. I could hear her crying behind me as I bit and clawed at the intruder.

Cal seems to be so frazzled by the unexpected arrival of one of the three packs of Westfall in the middle of the night that Sasha was even forced to join her parents while half of the Slaves prepare a feast while half are entertaining the wolves of Night Storm Pack, naked and bare despite some of them have fresh wounds inflicted by the Fire Moon Pack’s wicked Alpha. That was a nightmare, yes. But with Shadow Rose Pack’s presence in their territory…it’s like comparing the bite of a cat to a lion. And one sure knows which is which. As she peeked outside the rusty bars of their cell, everyone was silent. Whether they are sleeping or some have just entirely given up, died—in the more candid term

A monstrous growl tore from his throat, and I cried out in pain. "Know your place, you half witted human!" he roared. "You don't have a wolf and you dare call me weak? Even though my boots are the newest addition to the wood floor, the day's heavy practice brings our movements into a perfect rhythm of unspoken understanding. It has been a real long time since my wolf felt this kind of pure happiness. Being surrounded by like-minded male wolves who share the same dream always brings joy to my spirit. I stretch my arms out wide, taking a deep breath of the wood-scented air inside the hall. I wouldn't have had to if I wasn't on patrol and the other Heirs hadn't seen her too. The three of us, with our soldiers, were out hunting a pack of Hollowborns that attacked one of our hatching grounds. We managed to kill some of them, until they all headed towards Thornwood. Wolves territory was forbidden for Dragons and vice versa. We had no option but to camp outside their borders, and hope the Hollowborns show up before daybreak when they would go back into hiding. I had used my powers to keep us invisible from sight. It was easier since it was pitch black last night. But somehow, the girl had run directly towards me, she saw me despite the thick cover of darkness.
