Days before.
Jade kept her green eyes open, like every night, because of her chronic insomnia. All around her, the silence was so raw it hurt, and only the moonlight from the rainy seasons lit up the black sky in the middle of the morning. The books that were scattered on the floor were no longer to her liking, she just needed a glance to remember them perfectly for the rest of her life, so the library was no longer her favorite place to be as it had been before. She already knew them all by heart.
With a sigh, she sat up on her bed, dropping the silk sheets that caressed her men's clothes. Accustomed to that aspect that at times made her forget that she was biologically the opposite sex. If it weren't for the family rules, maybe everything would be easier for her.
She couldn't say she was treated badly in that mansion. Quite the opposite. They pampered her as much as possible, and praised her white skin even though she hardly cared for her and it was only natural. Her very long black hair that they combed day after day was only to show that the men of that family were treated by servants, and her slim body the result of very careful feeding.
But that was one thing and another to hide her true identity throughout his twenty-one years.
It was exhausting having to resist every comment where the result was marriage. She secretly preferred to train the art of the sword without many results. Her brothers used to criticize her a lot for her poor performance on the subject. It wasn't her fault that she didn't have the same body strength as them.
And she could not do anything, it was the law of the family, all descendants had to be men. Or else there was only one option, lose your head. Her father was very strict and she was sure that if her mother had not hidden her sex when she was born, they would surely both be dead at that time.
That was how simple and difficult life was in that golden cage.
After midnight, noises from outside broke the silence and Jade was alarmed. What could cause such a disturbance at such an hour? Pushing away what was left of the covers she walked to the door and opened it slightly only to be pushed back, hitting her forehead on the edge of the table, and getting dizzy from the impact.
She couldn't move, she was stunned and the sound grew louder and more rambling around her as her body was dragged through the corridors of the great mansion. It was held by the high bow that she used to wear, as if it were a human sack and it hurt. Something liquid and hot splashed her face and she could not define it until she saw out of the corner of his eye her white sleeping robe stained with drops of blood.
The image made her come out of his nebula a bit, and despite still numb, she shook herself trying to free herself from the grip. She flailed her hands and legs screaming, but all she did was make something hard land against her cheek, breaking her lip.
-Quiet child, if you don't want to lose your life right here- a deep voice reached her ears and shook her so much that she remained motionless, not even her father, the few times he was upset with her, he had spoken to her like that. It was as if every muscle in her body froze in submission.
By the time she was thrown against the white stones of the central courtyard, her feet were bruised and her clothes were in disrepair, revealing part of her white, underdeveloped chest, rising and falling uneasily. Jade opened her eyes and shook her head to find an unpleasant and heartbreaking image in front of her. The body of his mother, father, brothers, servants, and his entire clan lay before his eyes and their blood spread beneath them until it stained her hands, like an endless lake.
A scream caught in her throat and she tried to get closer to them as her ankle was grabbed and pulled back, slashing her palms and chin against the now crimson stones.
She turned her face and only found a man, a single man, covered from head to toe with black clothes, showing an erect and worked body, which covered his face only revealing two very bright amber eyes. A wave of nostalgia ran through her as she looked at him, as if it were not the first time she had seen those unreal orbs, but it was blurred when she heard her laugh.
-A beautiful skin, perfect for an excellent job- he knelt and lifted her by the hair, inserting his hand through the opening of her tunic and running it to the side leaving her chest uncovered -Appetizing and whitish, it would be a shame if it were desecrated. And what a surprise I find myself –
His bloodstained fingers stretched from her collarbone to the beginning of the valley of her breasts.
-A beautiful body hidden under a worldly facade. They have fallen so low- he laughed and lifted the girl who was struggling to bear the pain caused by the grip, with a grimace that disfigured her delicate features.
The man brought his face close to her ear and laughed again this time more gravely.
-This skin of yours will be the ideal material for my goal- Jade trembled and tears ran down her cheeks. If they wanted to call her a coward, they could. She had never learned to defend himself because she was the youngest and his brothers were very overprotective. Barely her skill with the sword could be said to be decent and the shock of the current events overwhelmed her.
The stranger threw her against the ground again and from one of his pockets took out some ropes. Jade shifted and began to crawl to keep her distance but the man got on top of her and sat down roughly, leaving her motionless and almost gasping for air.
Despite struggling, her hands and feet were bound and pinned to the ground by something she couldn't define leaving her face up and vulnerable. Her clothes were completely removed leaving her out in the cold night.
There in the middle of the night, with her legs spread apart, tied up and without some protective barrier between her body and the outside, she felt unprotected and terrified. She thought it would be a good idea to shout but who would hear it. It was surrounded by many corpses, too much for anyone to be left alive in this place apart from the two of them. That was if it didn't fall to the fact that his huge mansion was separated from the nearest town by a few acres of land.
A smell of burning came to her and in the middle of her tear-stained eyes she saw a small fire with iron hooks that heated red-hot. The man rolled back onto his body and sat on his stomach with his legs on either side of his waist. This time he examined her skin again with equal parts fascination and lust.
He reached out one of his arms grabbing one of the hooks and passed it in front of his face admiring the bright red of the metal.
-Beautiful right? - he asked Jade knowing that she would have no answer- It will only hurt at first, then you will find pleasure even in the madness of pain-
Panic intensified in the young woman who tried to free herself to only cause more damage to her joints.
Her throat, which until now had not let out a sound, tore with a cry when the hot metal touched her skin marking like that, for life.
If before she had stayed awake because of the chronic insomnia she suffered, now it was because of the sharp pain that spread through every inch of her skin behind the hot iron that marked her. Flooding the room with the smell of burned skin that mixed with the nauseating smell of blood. Despite wanting to scream to try to vent her efforts were useless, a dirty cloth had been introduced into her mouth filling her taste buds with a metallic taste that made her nauseous. Amid the nebula of her suffering she heard the laughter of her tattoo artist, who seemed to enjoy his work like an artist writhing in his pleasure. Jade wanted to lose consciousness, but it was impossible, she wanted to die, everything would be better than that unlimited suffering. Only when the customary night rain came hours later did her body find a modicum of relief. Now, alone in the dark, surrounded by corpses and her skin itching and burning, her eyes closed and she just waited for her soul to l
After two days walking, looking for the one who would be her new protector, Jade could only complain about the pain in her knees and feet, but she did not. Being reserved with her opinion was one of the many rules she had been taught from a very young age. Being polite, not responding, respecting others and keeping quiet about everything that is too much, so many rules engraved within her, that it would be difficult for her to get rid of them. Still she wanted to shout to the thousand heavens for a little peace. The first day of the trip had not been so difficult. Walk straight through the town closest to your old home. She was grateful that no one noticed her appearance that she had covered, in addition to the veil on his face covering the brand, with a large straw hat. But the night was not quiet. Not having any money, she had had to take refuge in the darkness of the night and there was no shortage of those who found her and had to run away to take refuge in
Jade knew the world was full of cruel people, but she never imagined running into two in such a short time. First, that person who had changed her life and appeared in the few hours of sleep that her insomnia allowed her. The other was this supposed friend of the family who after many hours and a whole night had not even appeared to deign to meet her. She clenched her fists against the damp, icy fabric. She felt the fever move through her body and the fatigue closed her eyes causing her to stagger in that position. She had said she would stand her ground, but it was really difficult. The sun's rays announced the dawn and the end of the rain. She stroked her arms over the fabric in a vain attempt to warm herself. It was soaked to the bone. The hat that used to protect her head had been almost completely discarded thanks to the supposed good quality of its manufacture and his clothes were stained almost to lose color. She swallowed a lamenting sob. Why she had
The minutes seemed like hours, the hours seemed centuries. She lost track of time in that place. She knew that it had been dark a while ago because the place had gone dark with only the slight reflection of the moon on the water in the tub. She settled down leaning on a wooden column and moving her aching buttocks to the side. At least the pain in his knees had lessened, but not the bruises that formed. She put her hand to her forehead. Her fever had risen, the slight cold sweat lowered the woman's tunic that had been worn for her and the slight dizziness not only from the disease, they were the confirmation of that. She hugged herself trying to find some warmth that did not reach her. She was exhausted from everything. This was one of those moments that told her to let go of everything and close her eyes and forget that the world existed. In the end she had no regrets. She was not a vindictive person and knowing how weak she was, she could not hope to kill the man w
Panic seized the girl. She felt her body trapped under that stranger who was looking at her without any interest while the hair caressed her face making her tickle uncomfortably. A lump formed in her throat and she couldn't help biting her lips until they hurt. Every muscle in his body was tense and immobilized, she had to get out of there but she didn't know how. -I don't like rebellious people- Vladek's deep voice alarmed her, the brightness of those eyes devouring her from top to bottom- Take off the flight- he demanded. Jade visibly trembled and, managing to move her hands, she pressed the veil again with one and the other brought it to her chest, preventing the robe from opening. Vladek realized that the little person below him was beyond terrified, to the point of collapse. The color had left what he could see of his face and his pupils were so dilated that he could see himself in them. Still, it would strain his defenses a bit more. If he was not the p
Jade walked as fast as her body allowed behind Vladek. That morning he had only ordered her to follow him without further explanation and had no choice but to do so, despite wanting to stay in bed all day. And asking questions was not something she could have as an alternative. Her temperature must have risen a little more and she felt like the inner robe was sticking to her skin, being repulsive. Even if it wasn't a hot day, she felt suffocated and shivered with cold. Vladek hadn't paid attention to her condition or asked her anything. Had it been okay to trust him? She still didn't know. He was not a man of many words. Now he was walking fast without looking back. Their robes ranged from browns to whites with a few odd weaves. His hair flowed softly behind her, and his robes gave off a delicious smell of cinnamon that nothing hit him but made the women turn in his wake. He was the type of person who attracted attention even inadvertently. After several minu
Vladek hated what it was. Others wanted to have his ability, his genes, his nature, but he was different. When you are 379 years old, the story was not pleasant especially having a path of misfortunes on your back. He had seen many people die in front of him, especially those who discovered his secret, but what marked him the most were those who had been an important part of him. He had longed for death several times but as a wolf he could not easily seek his death and his strength had built up in such a way that his body would not surrender to anyone, even if he wanted to. He cursed his life over and over again. Sigh. Concentrating, he let the blood inside him flow freely as it rarely did. He maintained absolute control over his instincts and only let them go when necessary, or doing so would have serious consequences. He was too violent when he put his mind to it. He opened his eyes, they had turned an intense golden color and the pupil had been red
Blood ran down the white wolf's back, making a trail behind him. Other injuries on his body made it difficult for him to advance faster, even though there were at least five men behind him, pursuing him. It hurt, his blood burned inside, his betrayal of him. If I could I would rip his neck off and eat his heart and then throw it up. Vladek advanced trying to leave that immense property, but the more he advanced the more it seemed that the exit was moving away, it must be because of the painkillers with which the weapons that attacked him were bathed. The owner of that mansion had threatened to reveal his existence and although Vladek had wanted to kill him right there, he remembered the words of his father claiming that they owed much to that family. Although it was that same family that extracted a large amount of money from its own reserves. He advanced until he began to stagger awkwardly. He had to stop for a few seconds to catch his breath and focus his eyes when
