"You have to stop! Do not go toward the light!" The young man did not blink. He did not even look at Maya. He simply stepped forward. He moved with much force that his shirt ripped right out of Mayas hands. His strength was not normal. It felt like a machine. Maya realized that the Sister was sending a signal. She was treating the people like a computer update. The Sister had turned their brains into radio receivers. Maya looked down at the Silver Pen. It was still cold. The purple spark in her hand felt like a piece of ice stuck in her bone. Maya thought that the Sister, the "Mind" Bio-Print had found a way to block Bensons connection.

I pull my hand back. My Sister remains sitting there in the sand, and says nothing as I leave. She can read minds and see the past by touching someone.
