I flipped through some papers and books, trying to find something that would capture my attention. But my mind kept wandering. I couldn't focus on anything. I kept thinking about the Seer's words, about the pain that was coming, about my brothers and what they might have to go through. I took a sip of coffee, trying to calm myself down. But it didn't help. I felt like I was drowning in my own thoughts. I leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes, taking deep breaths. I needed to clear my mind, to find some peace. But how?

A feeling I knew well. I fixated on that thought. Curious what the title of my book would be. Would it be thick, or thin? Would it be leather-bound, or frail material with tattered thread only just keeping the pages entwined? Regardless, the images inside would be spectacular. Tap Tap Tap My fingers sped up. I felt eyes on me. Eyes that weren't there. I wanted a drink. Something to calm my thoughts. But a sip wouldn't be enough. Not anymore. Honestly, I don't mind the drinking so much when it knocks you out and keeps you quiet. Then we're spared from hearing of your latest antics.

I'm in the library reading my second book of the day. I don’t mind reading, I love it In fact. Diving into a book is like placing a bubble around me where reality stops for a while. However, I would've like to have something else to occupy my time with as well. After 3-4 hours, I got bored and just stared into the wall. Also when I'm not doing anything, my mind and thoughts spin around like crazy thinking about the barrier in my head and the wizard controlling it. Also, James seems to be hiding something from me.

Don't overdo it. I don't know how I could possibly do any less physical activity. I've read three books this week. Scrolled through my phone until my eyes burned. Binged every mindless show N*****x has to offer until the characters' voices blur together into meaningless noise. The boredom is almost worse than the pain— it gives my mind too much space to wander into dangerous territory.

These words kept echoing in my mind continuously. "This can't be the end. No, it just can't be," I mumbled in frustration, closing my eyes as I tried to clear my thoughts. I tried my best to concentrate and read, but my mind keeps drifting off. So I closed the book, and stared out the window at the early morning sky. I sighed in defeat as my thoughts kept wandering, and frustration built inside me. I decided to take a break, maybe a walk or something, just to clear my mind. As I made to get down from the window seat, I tripped.

So, other than mealtimes, it was difficult to estimate times. Time seemed to blur. Passing in what seemed an incredibly slowly pace. I had picked up various books from the shelves in my room and begun reading through them, but none seemed to grip at my attention. I struggled to focus, and again without Orla there to chat to, and without my phone to mess around on, I had too much time to daydream. Too much time to think, and that was dangerous - I felt I was losing my mind…

It felt like my world was crumbling. I wandered through the tall bookshelves, pulling out random books. Nothing seemed to hold my attention. Finally, I found myself in the paranormal section. I picked out a thick book with a dark cover. It was about werewolves. I settled into a quiet corner, hoping to lose myself in the story.

I close the book, collapsing into the wall of pillows behind me, another sigh breaks out of me and I toss the book to the side and close my eyes, letting my mind drift off to an endless plane. Mother's words play subtly in my mind, drifting like a cloud in the silent dark. My mind becomes a place I’m trapped in and suddenly I start to feel lonely in my own thoughts.
