Then I settled back onto my bed, holding the book—a safe haven all by itself—against my chest, and tried to calm the storm raging inside my mind. Reading now felt like wandering through a bewitched forest, every page I turned pulling me deeper into a world where reality seamlessly blurred with dreams. Could I truly enter this realm, follow the clues of fate, and uncover who I truly was? A rush of excitement coursing through my veins reminded me that if the book reflected anything near my life, magic was within reach—I just needed to find the courage to grab it.

He wasn't there and the desk was empty, yet something in me lurched at the sight. ‘What was wrong with me?' I swallowed, looking away to center my thoughts. The books. Right. Plopping onto the soft surface, I looked properly at the books I acquired, ready to clear my mind. I let myself get drowned in the mass of words that came meaninglessly. The first book I read was some kind of fantasy romance adventure. One which entailed a woman who had to run away from her home and found herself another family in the form of two siblings and another pack. It was strange to say the least, but it kept my mind momentarily distracted.

I hope you are too, and would be ever so humbled if you let me know what you thought of my little part two. Being able to explore my characters through their own points of view was an eye opening experience, and I hoped you loved tuning into Dalton, Kendra, and Jake's thoughts just as much as the lead's, Hollis and Whitney's. Despite this book taking five months to write, a month less than two of my other novels, "Not All Who Wander Are Lost" is by far my longest book, nearing 600 pages. I couldn't avoid it since there was so much I wanted to cover, and there are no regrets.

' thought Nora as she headed straight for the waiting room. Nora's flight was in an hour. Nora had turned off her mobile phone and chose to read a novel by her favourite author. The novel told the story of the adventures of three people in various parallel worlds. This work was the second part of the previous work. Just by reading the novel, she felt like she was in another world and forgot for a moment what was happening to her at the moment. She seemed to be immersed in her own world of reading. Meanwhile, at the Torrence family mansion, Vivian, Adam's mother, was engrossed in reading a magazine in the living room. There was tea and freshly baked cookies on the table.

My mind is flying, to north morea sometimes to bangkok. It just is! My thoughts are far away and I have been like this for a while now, I can hardly finish my work. It's cool, it's Dylan! Is it his fault that I am like this? I don't understand myself anymore. I really need to check up. I might end up going crazy.

Calla sat on the edge of her bed, her legs crossed beneath her, a book lying open in her lap. She’d been staring at the same page for what felt like forever, the words swimming in front of her eyes. Normally, reading was her refuge, the one place she could retreat when everything else felt too chaotic, too overwhelming. But not today. Today, her mind wouldn’t let her focus.

All I had to do was open the book and actually read it, while of course, retaining the information. But the task of reading and retaining was exceedingly difficult at the moment, and I found my mind heavy. My thoughts would wander off into nothing so that I would have to go back and read the passage again, and again. And it wasn't for lack of interest. The science of mental disorders and psychotherapy was intriguing; I wanted to learn. Yet a pair of green eyes would sneakily slither into my consciousness when I was least aware of it, and I would catch myself remembering him for minutes at a time.

Moments where I thought, " This is it. And yet, it never happened. At least, not completely. Something always stopped us. Most of the time, it was his work. Sometimes, it was me. Sometimes, it was just… the overwhelming awareness that neither of us knew what we were doing. I lay on my bed one afternoon, a book resting open against my chest, my eyes scanning the same line over and over again without actually absorbing a single word. My mind was somewhere else, specifically, on my mate. I let out a soft groan and dropped the book over my face. “This is so embarrassing,” I muttered into the pages. Towering shelves stretched upward, their rows of books like silent sentinels keeping secrets of centuries past. She wandered between them, letting her fingers brush spines as though they might anchor her. Eventually, she stopped at one of the ladders and pulled down a weathered volume at random. The book wasn’t important it was merely something to hold, something to keep her hands busy while her mind raced.

If left unchecked, the subject may experience loss of control. Loss of control leads to madness. The book slipped from my hands and hit the floor with a dull thud. Madness. The word echoed in my head, over and over, until it drowned out everything else. I sank back into the chair, staring at nothing, my breath coming in shallow gasps. I hadn’t just been healed. I had been changed.
