She did not talk, only sat on the floor next to the bed, with her knees hugged to her, and waited until Rain would speak.
So Rain did.
She narrated to her about the warehouse, and the ropes that tore into her wrists, about the grin on Veylor’s face, and how quiet it was when you believed that you would die. Mina was listening with a pale face, running her fingers on the carpet.
When Rain was done, Mina finally spoke. “I have been writing everything down.”
Rain blinked. “Writing?”
Mina nodded, and she took out a small leather notebook out of her pocket. “When people lie, paper does not.”
