I’ve been out cold for so much of the day that my brain is jumping to activity. I nearly died. Not once, but twice. I just went through a real ordeal that no longer even feels like it happened. It’s a dream and hazy memories of something so far-fetched that if someone told me, I’d think they were lying. I’m lucky to be alive against the odds, and it is a miracle I’m here. I can replay it a hundred times in my head, and I still don’t know how I managed to get through it. I can’t connect to it as reality anymore.

But I’m not even sure if it’s real, it could just be legend." Dominic’s face went white. “What’s wrong?” I asked him. “Mira,” he said without breathing. “It isn't a legend, those places are real.” “How do you know?” “Because I’ve been there.”

The ghost crossed her legs elegantly and placed her hands on top of her propped knee. Miranda gulped and pointed to her chest, "I live in the real world. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, they don't exist. I wake up in the morning, I take care of my routine. I handle my business and stay out of the business of others. I go home, I cook for myself, I watch the news. When I'm not in the best mood I can easily swallow a tub of ice cream. I even go to church sometimes." The ghost nodded along patiently, as if she was a therapist.

The seed soaked up the water and began to grow.” Zendaya chimed in, “Did it become a flower?” I nodded, “Yes, Zendaya. Despite the harsh conditions, the seed grew into a beautiful flower. It stood tall and proud in the desert, and its beauty could be seen for miles. People from far and wide came to see the miracle flower that bloomed against all odds.” The kids’ eyes were heavy with sleep, but they were smiling. “Goodnight, my little miracles,” I whispered, kissing their foreheads.
