Her giggles were contagious, and for a moment, the weight of everything else in my life seemed to lift.
Then something incredible happened.
As I rinsed Lily’s hair, a cluster of bubbles floated above her head, shimmering in the sunlight. I blinked, thinking it was just the breeze from the open window, but then the bubbles began to move—upward, spinning and twirling in a way that was far too deliberate to be natural.
“Lily...” I whispered, my heart pounding.
She giggled again, clapping her hands, and the bubbles floated higher, swirling around the room like tiny, magical orbs. Logan, now on the floor beside the tub, pointed at the bubbles with wide eyes, his laughter joining his sister’s.
