They talked. Slowly at first—failed plans, burned bridges, people who didn’t appreciate visionaries. Ivan spoke of leaving the States, of deals gone sour and partners who got too sentimental. Lina spoke of Luca, of GreenLee, of a family that had closed ranks and locked her out.
“You wanted the crown,” Ivan said. “But they gave it to the girl with sauce on her thumb.”
Lina laughed, bitter and sharp. “She’s not even trying. She just... exists. And they worship her.”
