Lyra followed, holding onto her purse as they approached the large glass doors of La Mirage Boutique, one of the most expensive stores in the city.
Inside, the faint scent of roses and vanilla filled the air. Rows of elegant dresses, shoes, and jewelry shimmered under warm lighting. Mira’s eyes lit up instantly.
“I know you’ve never shopped here before, sissy,” Mira said, linking her arm with Lyra’s, “but I bet you’ll love their clothing.”
Lyra smiled. “You sound like you’ve missed this.”
“Oh, I have,” Mira said with a laugh. “I used to love shopping before everything turned into chaos.”
