She nodded and reached out, pressing a small button near the bottom corner that read *Dining Wing* in tiny engraved letters.
A beat of silence passed before she turned to look up at me again. “Were you crying, Luna?”
I blinked, startled, my smile faltering.
I laughed awkwardly, brushing my cheek as if that could erase the evidence. “No, of course not. I wasn’t crying.”
The little girl tilted her head and gave me a look far too knowing for her age. “You were, Luna. I can smell your tears.”
I arched a brow. “Of course you can. You’re a wolf. Nothing leaves you unnoticed, huh?”
