As we hung up, I then put a call into my dear friend, and witch, Miranda. Miranda was a childhood friend of mine. She is a witch with various powers that exceed the traditional witches doing spells. She can identify if magic has been used in a situation, what spells or potions might have been used and a bunch of other things, even I can’t fully understand. I needed to talk to her about what was going on and get her here as fast as possible.

"I think I need a break but there will be no one to take care of the whole thing while I'm gone. Would it be too much if I wished for the world to stop moving for a day?" Miranda felt the temperature around her rise until her whole body was sweating. So hot, almost unbearable. The woman noticed, apart from the purple glow, a golden yellow light also dominated her, even brighter and almost like the heat of the sun. The glow in Miranda's hands shrunk to the size of a marble, then popped like bubbles. The magician turned with his head up, then was stunned with wide eyes. The perfect circle in the sky was no longer black for some time, but all of its light was only directed at Miranda, it looked like a glowing bridge to heaven.

It crashed over me like a tide of liquid silver, and my vision blurred, everything taking on a golden cast that made the world look like it was burning. For one impossible heartbeat, I could see everything with supernatural clarity. The grain of the wood in the table, the individual threads in Mira's worn apron, the way dust motes danced in the firelight like tiny sprites. But more than that—I could see the energy that flowed between all living things, the invisible connections that bound the world together.
