Her companions shouted, their voices drowned out by the figure’s laughter. Jessica’s heart pounded as she looked at the mirror, its surface now clear, reflecting not her face but a battlefield strewn with bodies—Kade, Selene, Lucas, Bryan—all lifeless, their eyes staring blankly at a sky devoid of stars.
“No,” she whispered, tears streaming down her face. “I won’t let that happen.”
She stepped toward the mirror, but Kade grabbed her arm, his grip desperate. “Jess, don’t. We don’t know what it’ll do to you.”
