The following morning felt colder than usual, even though the sun was out. Light streamed through the windows, painting long golden stripes across the floor, but it didn’t chase away the chill. Claire woke with a start, reaching instinctively for the warmth beside her. But Ryan’s side of the bed was empty. The sheets were cold, as if he’d been gone for hours. Panic gripped her chest like a vice. Had something happened overnight? Had he gone after those men alone?

5 YEARS LATER Twilight Pack June's POV It's been a busy week. Renae and I had been busy making tonics and herbal supplements for the upcoming event. It was Alpha Ted's order It was one of a kind. I had never witnessed a big event of such in the past five years since we had been absorbed by the Twilight Pack. It's been crazy coping with the Pack's responsibility as a maid, taking care of Renae's pups, and keeping an eye on Renae.

Royce POV A rogue had attacked the pack once again and we had to trace it. I had my team trace it to the blue moon pack and had taken permission to search for it from the Alpha of the Blue moon pack. Streams of sweat were already dropping from the Corner of my eyes but I could not stop until we found that beast. "We have to keep going guys, we must allow that beast gto o scout free after all the atrocities that it has already committed," I announced to them while we continued searching.

She shrugged at his touch and used her hands to shove him aside. As he reluctantly conceded and kept his hands to himself, Penn refocused on us. “After examining the hollow crescent at the base of the plagioclase stone, I think it fits into something. I don't know if the missing part could be in Uganda or the temple that we are searching for.” Penn’s eyes filled with worry. “Once the quest is completed, it needs to go back to its rightful place, or Raina could suffer more, unless it’s using her to get to someone else. We’d have to figure out who that person is.”
