Scanning the doorframe, I catch sight of a small camera tucked away in the corner.
“I see you took my advice. That was quick,” I remark.
The door clicks open, and I step inside. His room feels more like a fancy hotel suite than a regular bedroom. There’s a kitchenette, a cozy sitting area, a king-sized bed, and a couple of closed doors that are likely closets and a bathroom. Unlike the darker tones of the rest of the house, this space is painted in soft gray with white highlights.
“I liked your camera idea. When I see something I like, I take it,” Nolan says as he strolls over with two drinks, handing one to me. “Feeling any better?”
