It was the old book that was on my bed minutes ago. The longer I was staring at the object that was moving on its own, the more frightened I was getting. I then heard the sound of glass breaking coming from downstairs. That was my cue to go hide under my blanket. There's no way in hell that I was going to check out what the hell is going on. I wasn't like those people in horror movies. I was just going to hide here until my mom and dad come back. ~~~

He was lying face down, and face up, all at once. I live in that house now. I am the village "fixer." And every night, I listen to the scratching beneath the floorboards. I don't fear the ones that crawl. I fear the ones that wait. Because now I know that the most terrifying thing in the world isn't death—it’s a corpse that refuses to close its eyes.

In movies, horror lurks in the silhouettes, the night is the horror, along it comes not zombie breakouts or waste mutant experiments but vampires and not just vampires but many more. Bungalow structures coddled the land with bright bulbs shining over some dark sides saintliness and radiance, unstructured establishments could be seen also but with construction banners pasted on each walls and at the edge of the town was a bar, a motel to be accurate glowing from the windows light reflections to attract customers. HONK! ZOOM!

I take my food to the lounge to eat while watching TV. When I'm not dancing, I'm cooking and watching series. Mostly thriller and suspense. Believe me, I get scared, but thriller is better than horror. It's mostly blood and guns but with horror? You'll come across creatures that don't even exist yet feel real because of how scary they are. You'll believe there's a Darkasher somewhere out there.

“But hey, that’s metal. My mom hated scary movies; she’d have lost her mind over you.” The easy admiration landed like a warmth. I didn’t know what to do with. “Or she’d have told me it wasn’t a real job,” I said dryly. “There’s precedent.” “Then she’d have been wrong,” Jax said, as if it were simple. “Horror’s the most honest genre. It tells you the world wants to eat you, then makes you laugh about it so you don’t go crazy.” I stared at him for a second. Years of Ethan’s *cute little stories* and my sister’s *creepy* had not prepared me for a stranger casually defending my entire existence on a haunted bus.

Because he had just been ripped apart. I turned around slowly and stared at the “pet” who had done the ripping. He still had blood on his face, but somehow looked… innocent. “I was hungry,” he murmured. Maybe it was my imagination, but his pupils looked a little sharper than before. [Wow. Trying to slut-shame someone in a horror dungeon? He had it coming.] [Pop the champagne. Ding-dong, the jerk is dead.] [Lol the stans are out. She can sleep with monsters but nobody can call her out?]

I was in the wrong game? This was a horror game, not an otome romance? In just a few seconds, every strange detail suddenly made sense.

The next second, the Patchwork Monster tore the man in half. He tossed the body outside casually. Just then, a crisp, bell-like voice sounded outside. “It’s after work hours, who’s so rude as to be throwing bodies around?” A young girl with three heads and eight arms appeared at the doorway. With just one look at the shop, anger filled her voice, and her hair stood on end. “Who the hell had a death wish and smashed the Number One Must-Eat shop in the entire horror game?”

She learned more or less about design psychology, and from the interior design of Adam's apartment, Yara was able to underline Adam's character which was still very clear and cold. With the dominance of black and adopting a minimalist design, the apartment really feels cold. There were no decorations or ornaments that decorated the apartment, as if the apartment was only used for sleeping, not for living. Yara plopped down on the sofa, then stretched her legs while sipping the ice vanilla latte that she had bought before she went up to Adam's unit. Suddenly Yara chuckled as she remembered how she asked her parents for permission and how she was going to make Adam pay for what he did.

So warm and comfy. It doesn't take long when it pours again. Heavier than yesterday night's. My sleepiness fades away when I hear something from outside of the room, making me sit up straight. I get out of bed and then check the living room with my phone's torch, but there's nothing to be seen but the very faint moonlight penetrating the glass windows. I swear, I heard something from here. It was like a knocking sound. "Hello?" I say. O God. I feel so stupid by asking the void. Nobody answers back. Of course. I'm all alone. I should've never chosen a horror-themed film today. This is what I get after watching — anxiety. Anyway, they're fictitious, and fun to witness so.
