The Vampire's Intern

“You think I’m crazy, but that’s the only explanation that makes sense.” I scoffed. “You sound like a conspiracy theorist. Vampires don’t exist, and you’ve got to stop reading all those fantasy books.” Before she could say anything else, I grabbed another slice of toast and breezed out of the apartment. My condolences to the victims, but vampire attacks were just so stupidly unrealistic. Like creatures of the night actually existed. Right, sure. “Mr. Vale’s not in right now.” Celine said at the reception, looking me up and down.

The Vampire's Flower

Placing the book back on the shelf, I walked down the shelves skimming through the titles of the famous books as I finally reached a dead end. Hey, Mr. Wall! How long have you been here? Can you tell me a few things about the First Vampire too? Things I want to know except the tragic love story? I chuckled at my self which was totally not sane after such a long walk as my tired eyes landed on a blue covered thin book in the far end of the last shelf. It had no title either. Curiosity got the best of me as I pulled out the book and to my surprise, a strange light flew in the direction of the wall as it vanished.

Vampire's Love

Vampire's Love

She ignored my question. Without warning, she lunged forward, grabbing my hair and twisting my neck to a side before burying her fangs inside my neck. A blood curdling scream escaped through my lungs and she clutched my mouth roughly. She was a vampire, she was so much more stronger than me and I was aware of that. But I had to fight back, I had to do something, anything. With another muffled scream, I tried to lean away from her as she kept sucking my blood, completely draining me. " I hate you and your presence so much that I had to stop myself from ripping your heart out every fucking time you lay your filthy hands on him." She kept rambling as I broke down on the floor, clutching my neck

They settled on the floor with her head on his shoulder; this time, with no headrest. "I think I've read up to half of it," she told him, skimming through the pages. The book was quite thick. "The vampire lord and his immortal empress," he read out the subtitle, "I thought they were both immortals?" "Yes but he was a vampire and though vampires can live forever, they can be killed but she, she was blessed by the moon goddess and so, she couldn't be killed. Whenever she is killed, she just wheezes back to life," she explained.

Lady and the Vamp

Lady and the Vamp

UNKNOWN POV I am washing my face and having a drink from a lake when I get the strong feeling I'm being watched as I turn I see a vampire coming straight at me, I snear knowing I'm not your average wolf, and I can easily take him. As he gets to me I grab him and throw him into the water, my flight or fight response is surprising me as it usually tells me not to fight but not this time. The vampire comes for me again and I let Kylo take control shifting into my wolf. Kylo snaps at him, missing him by centimetres as he hits Kylo in the side "he's not a regular vampire Ky he has no scent be careful" I tell him as he lunges for the vampire again, suddenly a knife comes seemingly out of nowhere a

The Vampire's Mate

The Vampire's Mate

Nick and I nodded, “Do you accept your position as queen of the vampires and relinquish your life to the vampires as a hybrid?” “Yes.” “NO!” Mara yelled, but we continued, “Do you accept her as your queen, lover and mate?” Mandy asked Nick, he nodded, “Yes.” She took a knife and cut my hand first and then Nick’s, “This is the blood oath, this will bind your souls together for eternity.” She then muttered words in another language that sounded romanian or greek. She then placed our hands together and Nick bit my neck; I winced at the sudden pain but it soon disappeared

A Vampire's Mark

“That's weird, I bet Ethan is hiding something.” It was already night, I was engrossed in the book I found. It wasn't giving me any solution but it had these vampire stories in them. Their do’s and don't, heroes and heroine, the war between them and hunters and their little alliance with the witches. It had a similarity because the man who bit me was a vampire.

Vampire Queen (Book 2 Vampire Witch Trilogy)

Vampire Queen (Book 2 Vampire Witch Trilogy)

As I gazed upon the delicate and colorful bone china -laden with a myriad of intricately sculpted puddings, fruits, and vegetables- lining the center of the table and the gold trimmed goblets awaiting fresh, robust blood, I thought any royal table in the land would pale in comparison. I was surprised to discover that vampires in Vampire Land were also vegetarians. The fact that they insisted on human blood lured me into the trap of believing the fallacies and folklore that vampires survived solely on blood. I don’t know why I thought that. After all, Verso vampires ate a vegetarian diet as well as animal blood, so why wouldn’t the vampires of Vampire Land eat vegetarian along with human bl

I place it on the table beside me and reach for the next. ‘Vampyres or Vampires? – An encyclopaedia of fact, fiction and food sources.’ The irony of the blood red lettering and dry humour of the title make me chuckle in spite of the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end. I move to place the heavy book on top of it’s witchy companion and my fingers tingle as they brush something on the back. “What have we here?” yes, I talk to myself on occasion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Vampire books have this weirdly timeless appeal, don't they? I recently revisited 'Interview with the Vampire' by Anne Rice, and it hit differently this time—the melancholy, the existential dread, the lavish descriptions of New Orleans. It’s not just about bloodlust; it’s about loneliness and immortality’s curse. Then there’s 'The Historian' by Elizabeth Kostova, which blends vampirism with historical mystery. The slow burn feels like unraveling an ancient manuscript, and the atmospheric writing makes you check over your shoulder. For something grittier, 'The Passage' trilogy by Justin Cronin reimagines vampires as apocalyptic monsters, but the heart of the story is still human connection.

If you want a twist on the genre, 'Fledgling' by Octavia Butler is a masterpiece. It tackles race, power, and identity through a vampire protagonist who’s both innocent and terrifying. And let’s not forget 'Let the Right One In' by John Ajvide Lindqvist—part horror, part coming-of-age tale, with a friendship that’s as sweet as it is chilling. Each of these books offers something unique, whether it’s lush prose, deep themes, or sheer terror.
