Puck Me, One More Time
That realization sat in my chest when I felt Ken's hardness.
"I have got that orange shampoo that you want." My mum's voice came again, softer now, closer to the door.
She reached out with one hand and parted the curtain just slightly through the gap… only enough to slide the shampoo bottle through onto the floor. She kept her eyes averted, the way any decent parent does when their kid is in the shower, and I held my breath the entire time.
"Well, I am going to leave it right here." She said after then, while a small breath left me before I even realized I had been holding it.
