Chapter 4

"What are you so scared of that you won't talk to me? I know we just met but I really want to know. You can tell me and I promise no harm will come to you."

I take a deep breath. I'm never going to get out of here. Maybe if I just tell her, she'll let me leave.

Taking a deep breath I start telling her everything that happened with my old Alpha and why I am now a rogue and why I need to leave.

She just looks at me. Pitty and sadness in her eyes a little bit of anger.

"Who the fuck does he think he is hurting my mate like that? Where is he now? Where is his territory?"

"I don't remember is been so long. I left and never looked back. I just know it's south. Can I go now? I don't want him finding me if he's even looking for me."

"You're safe here. You don't need to run anymore love." She says as she comes over to hug me. With the tingles I'm instantly calm again. I don't like this. I want to stay but I need to move again.

Sensing the worry, she hugs even tighter.

"Please stay. Just give us a chance. Give ME a chance. I've been waiting for me mate since I was born. When I didn't sense him here I thought I would never find him and now you're here." She gives another squeeze as if I'm going to disappear. "Please stay." She whispers in my ear.

"Just a few days."

Her face brightens up, "That's a start. I'll take it. I promise you'll love it here." She grabs my hand. "Come. I'll show you to your room.

We walk out to the hallway and down to where a few rooms are on either side of the hall.

"You can stay in here." She says pointing to a room to our left. "It's right across from mine. If you need anything just ask."

She opens the door and leads me In. The room is huge. It's bigger than the whole shack I used to live in. The bed is big and doesn't even take up a quarter of the room. A row of windows line the wall that looks out into the forest. There's even a bathroom with a shower and tub. I've never had a bathroom. We just had an outhouse back home.

"Would you like to shower?" I look at her and then back at the shower.

"Um, how do you turn it on?"

She stares at me confused. "Have you never used a shower? How did you bathe at your old home?"

"We had to bathe in the river. We lived In a broken down shack. It barely had running water. We weren't allowed to use the public showers. That was for anyone who wasn't an omega."

Shaking her head she leads me to shower. She turns the knob, turning the water on.

"This controls the temperature of the water. Turn it left for hot and right for cold. When your done showering just push it down and it will turn the water off. There are towels in this cabinet and there is some shampoo and body wash on the shelf In the shower. I'll have Steven bring you up some fresh clothes. You can just put those in the trash can. If you need anything just holler. I'll be in my office." She smiles and leaves me to it.

I turn the knob like she said and feel the water. "Ouch!" Okay to hot. A little to the right. There, that's perfect. I strip down and throw my clothes in the trash and get in the shower. I wish we had been allowed to use showers back home. This feels amazing. My mom would have loved this. She had long hair down to her knees and always had trouble keeping it cleaned since all we were allowed was one bar of soap between the four of us. Once every two or three weeks we'd get a new bar.

I look at the bottles on the shelf until I find the one that says shampoo. I pour some in my hand and put the bottle back and start massaging it into my scalp and hair. I look down as I'm rinsing and notice how dark the water is. Guess I haven't been scrubbing well enough In the river. No wonder she asked if I wanted to shower. I probably didn't smell the best. After rinsing all the shampoo out I get some body wash and start scrubbing. This stuff smells so good.

Once I'm finished I shut the water off and grab a towel and start drying myself off. I wrap it around my waist and walk out to the bedroom to find a shirt, pants and boxers laying on the bed and shoes and a pair of socks on the floor. I quickly get dressed and climb up onto the bed.

It's so soft. I run my hands over the sheets, blankets and pillow admiring the feeling of them. I've never felt anything like this. It's so much more comfortable than the hard ground I've been sleeping on these past few years. I once tried bunching leaves under me and that help much.

Laying here In this comfy bed I start to feel my eyes get heavy. I get out of bed and walk over to the book case and grab a random book. I haven't read anything since I stole a couple books from the pack house. That one earned me a couple lashes. Shaking the thought from my head I take it back to the bed and start reading.
