"This thing won't stop until it consumes you." "I don't know how!" I growled, the terror rising in my chest, ready to boil over. "Whenever I attempt to tame it, it fights back. Her smile never wavered from her lips. After a short while, Tamara composed herself as she readied for their hunt training. Shahara would just be there and guide her through the way. She deeply inhaled and relaxed herself, just like what Shahara had taught her. She let her humanity link to her inner wolf – who was so excited to take over her. In just a few seconds, her bones started to break, and her black snout revealed while her back bent – and her crimson red fur covered her entire body.

I called out, biting hard on my lower lip as Callum shook his head in annoyance and disbelief. “We would have to stop Max before he gets out of control and bring destruction to the packhouse” Callum replied and I agreed with his words. Manticat soon descended from the stairs in his large Panter form ready to fight but when he saw his master's despondent state his ears lowered in pity and he went to comfort her by snuggling near her neck. He released purrs of reassurance but Ruby was too consumed by grief to listen. He activated a revitalizing spell to heal his mistress before submissively laying his head on her lap while listening to her cry knowing that there is nothing he can do or say that will lessen or remove her grief.

Then as he opened his mouth, I could see his canines protruding and before I could do anything, he had turned into a giant wolf in front of my very eyes.

But there was no easy way out. If I planned to live in the same room with him, then I couldn’t afford to be afraid, I had to know him—I had to learn his monster. And perhaps if I did, then I’d learn how to tame it. “It will work.” I said, surprised at how confident I sounded.
