I sat in my office for seven hours without living a muscle, just watching the video without taking my eyes off of it. Victor Viper was not joking when he promised Eliot Williamson that he was going to make him cry like a little boy, make him piss and soil his pants. Victor Viper tortured the man who had tried to take his city and legacy away from him, along with his only daughter.

Liv led the parade of dragons, although the red and blue ones stayed behind Danny and Amelia. Simultaneously, as Damonq leapt into the air, coming down with his fist driving forward straight through bone and sinew to find the monster’s heart, three missiles flew straight to the monsters waiting for the children. Rolling in the air as they flew, flames erupted and they burst through their chests, straight to the hearts, incinerating all three on contact. The monsters stood with their mouths open, shocked looks on their faces, and then they toppled backward. The grate fell, covering the hole, and with it dropped the side of the building, revealing a cavernous lift.

I knew then… I'd been right. The monster's second death condition: Fail to escape within three hours, and you die automatically. I let out a brittle, almost manic laugh as I carved the bloody rule into my arm, and a stray thought crept in. The monsters seem to have a fondness for the number three. Three requests. Three hours. Could there be… a third death condition? My gaze swept over the densely packed words scarring my skin, and all at once, the truth clicked into place. The monster was required to tell its victim its core rules.

Then, Mom could be heard slamming the door open in anger as she rushed in to try and save Justin, but she was no match for Riley or Toby. A loud crash was heard then, and Mom's voice disappeared. Justin's struggling sounds also ceased afterward. Time seemed to have come to a standstill at this point. Everyone in the crowd who watched and listened to the video was simply horrified. I felt my heart bleeding in pain again. The pain was so great that I struggled to breathe. "Didn't you just say just now that even animals wouldn't kill their young, Riley Stuart? So, why did you personally kill your own son for your own selfish desires?"
