“I swear I'm going to kill my dad!” He made reach for the door when Anderson stopped him with his dry, despaired voice. “Stop Harrison, you have got to use your head!” Harrison turned around and looked at him as though he were crazy. “My head?! You know what's in my head, right now? Murder, that's what!” Anderson sighed.

His body was a wall of heat and iron. "You're afraid that if you let go, you'll become the monster they all say you are," he murmured, his gaze dropping to my lips. "But let me tell you a secret, little maid." He leaned down, his breath hot against my ear. "The monsters are the ones who made you feel invisible. The monsters are the ones who bruise your skin." His voice dropped to a husky, dangerous whisper. "You are not the monster, Mira. You are the thing the monsters should be afraid of."

The scent of men who had already used their toys. My thighs pressed together out of instinct, trembling as I thought of what was coming. Of the men they said came here. The Monsters of the North. The beasts who didn’t just fuck—they destroyed. The ones who were said to knot a girl so hard she couldn’t walk for days, who split cunts and left them dripping with seed like trophies. The goddess should’ve struck me dead before letting me end up here. And then, Suddenly— The music stopped. The pounding, screaming, filthy bass went dead all at once, like the world had been yanked out from under me. My breathing was all I could hear, shallow and ragged under the blindfold.

“I said I'll do what you want.” The monster finally looks back at me fully. “You don't give orders here.” Then he lifts one hand slightly. Invisible pressure slams around my throat instantly. I gasp. My knees hit the ground hard while unseen fingers squeeze tighter around my neck. I claw desperately at empty air trying to breathe. And then… That voice again. Use your power. No. Not out loud. Inside my head. I don't want more blood. These men are monsters. There has to be another way.

It’s funny how silence feels heavier than screaming. When I was small, I thought silence meant safety — that if you sat still enough, breathed quiet enough, the monsters in the walls would forget you were there. I know better now. Monsters don’t need noise. Monsters feed on the parts of you that never learned how to run. I’ve been gone for weeks. They say no one saw me slip into the river. Maybe they’re right. Maybe they’re lying to themselves because the truth is too ugly: that they wanted to believe the water could wash me clean.

Several hours flew by, the time yet seeming so insignificant as I continued to lay in the exact same position, small tears falling at the sides of my head, drowning in an ocean of pure apathy. He never came back, yet I did not care, for his mere presence now seemed so loathe-worthy. Monster... The word played itself over and over again inside my mind, pounding in my skull like a broken record, each time slowly draining the life out of me, making me wish that I could simply cease to exist.

"You are a monster, Myles, just like me." I gave him a manical smile. "Yes, I am a monster, but not like you. I am worse. I am the monster that is going to be in your head as your life is sucked out of you. I am the monster that is going to hunt you for the remaining minutes of your miserable life. And I am the monster you are going to remember as you find your way to hell." I pointed my gun to his to his face, and I felt him tense underneath me.

He tugs on his hair as he screams at me, “I’M JUST TRYING TO HELP YOU! I have to help you get rid of that-that MONSTER inside of you!” My eyebrows furrow as I ask, “What the hell are you talking about?!”

My eyes widen, No! I immediately tried to puke but nothing, it is not going to save me, it is was already inside of my body last night. “How dare you to betray me! You, idiot!” I shouted at him but I feel the throbbing in my head. So, I am the victim of my own. “Don’t be angry, he only wants you to die peacefully. Later, she will be here do you want he to let her inside of your room and rip your neck?” He asks, he is the real monster.

I immediately stood on my feet and fight her staring game. “I am you,” she stated calmly. “No. This is my body. I own this. You are just someone I created in my head. You are nothing,” I told her trying not to make my voice very loud or someone will hear me. “I’m still strong because you needed me. I’m the brave side of you but it’s you who made me like this too. I loved blood.” “You are not real,” I continued. She laughed and it’s annoying. The next blink I made, she is gone again but I can still hear her laughing inside my head. The things I’m seeing looks like floating now, the space is getting smaller like it’s gonna crush me.
