You touch her again and it will be worse for her…” Randall looks over at me with Hugo sharing, so that I know and understand that both of them are in agreement. Randall lets his hair go and walks over to stand in front of me. He places his hand on my cheek, sliding his thumb back and forth. He leans in and whispers, “I told you no one touches you but me and if they do, you now know how much pain you will endure with just the smallest of touches.”

Lazar hisses menacingly. Randal slides his arm away and takes a few steps back, still grinning like a fool. Maybe he really is a madman. “Let’s get a bonfire going,” Randal suggests. “Don’t go too far now. Just gather up the sticks that are nearby.” Gathering sticks for the bonfire gives us something to do. We walk around, looking for fuel, while Laz and Randal keep an eye on us. Eventually, we have enough, and Randal starts the blaze. I know it’s for our benefit and not theirs. I’ve never heard of a vampire getting cold.

"Your affection and determination are challenging even the most powerful villain beyond the border. Keep fighting!" I felt driven by Randall's courage and words. With a cry of determination, I advanced towards the creature, using my energy to create a protective barrier around us. Every blow he threw was blocked by my fierce determination to protect those he loved.

A younger man stumbled back against the wall, his hand over his mouth, bile rising. It was Spencer. Cassie’s old friend from college. His wide eyes shimmered in the half-light, horrified. He had thought he was being brought to talk, maybe threatened a little. Not this. “Jesus Christ…” he gagged, turning his head, but the sounds wouldn’t stop—the crunch of cartilage, the wet smack of bloodied fists. Randall didn’t even look at him at first. He just kept working the man over slowly. Finally, Randall turned his head. “If you’re going to vomit, do it in the corner. But don’t interrupt me.”

Everyone eyes immediately went to their left following the sound of the voice. “We Humanes can handle it alone. Please Willian, the Queen and all you hunters. Leave this place at once let’s we Humanes take care of this.” Randall said as his right arm gave off smoke with a fizzing sound while being covered by his cape then suddenly he went inflamed in his white flames and this time it became more hotter than he used to, Willian himself was surprised as he covered his face with his arms— Randall white flames shone more light even brighter than anything he had seen.
