He had not expected the cobra to be this long and heavy and enormous. Kael grunted as he quickly got himself out of the snake’s body. He turned to Luna with her enchanted bow, aiming another of her golden arrow at the snake. It moved wildly over the snow. And so Kael unsheathed Icebane and gave the final blow of cutting its head off the body. Black liquid spurted out of the sliced flesh, which he quickly avoided. “You haven’t noticed?” Luna spoke, her tone sounding in disbelief. Kael pursed his lips and shook his head. “Sorry … and thanks.”

I said, looking at him to see his reaction. Kai’s grip on my waist tightened. He groaned and closed his eyes. “I never really thanked the Moon Goddess for much in life, but she sent us the most perfect mate. You’re killing us,” Kai said, opening his eyes and looking down at me with awe. “There are so many ways that we can corrupt you, and you will enjoy every single one of them,” he promised, kissing my forehead. I loved the sound of that. I knew he would uphold those words as well.

Torn, Kaia turns back to Miso, taking a step forward and placing his chin in her clasp. “You have plotted against my family for too long, this ends now.” “It will never end; you will be sacrificed to the moon goddess.” “One day, but not on your terms. I will greet her like a friend; I am not yours to sacrifice.” She states our defiantly. She takes a step back, the air shimmering around her as she prepares to use her abilities. She didn’t know about that. “She…” Her mother’s breath hitched, “she tied him to the moon. Just him though. He won’t be able to roam the earth as a human for two weeks straight. He would be trapped in his wolf form, with no hold on his humanity, for every first two weeks of the month” A breath of relief left Shirley in a rush. Kai stood in the middle wearing an open white shirt and dark jeans, the phoenix tattoo clearly visible. The photographer, a tall guy named Nico with messy hair and a loud voice, circled him. “Chin up a bit more,” Nico called. “Yeah, like that. Give me that ‘I know I’m hot’ look. Perfect.” Kai shifted his weight. “Like this?”

That thing should be celebrated, but her mother saw it in a different light. “Maybe your mother was just surprised by the news. Let’s wait until everything sinks into her.” He planted a kiss on her temple and pulled away. Sebastian cupped her cheeks. “This is our miracle, my love. And no matter what happens, we will celebrate her life….” Irma nodded her head and kissed him on the lips. “WHY is the moon like that, Mother?” Luna asked as she looked up into the sky. A smile curved on Irma’s lips as she watched her child staring at the moon with so much fascination in her eyes.

At least, he was merciful in that regard. Rather than stare at the silhouette of her best friend out there in the darkness alone, Nya turned her attention to the moon. The light was just missing Gavin now, but it would move momentarily, and he’d be bathed in the soft, warm glow of the Dragon Moon, and then, a shadow would pass across the orb, interrupting the beams, and the dragon would swoop out of the sky, his sharp talons sinking into Gavin’s flesh before the dragon plucked him away, flying up into the night sky with him and likely devouring him before he even reached his lair somewhere on the top of Scale Mountain to the west.

“And you will. You always do.” Later that night, as the pack settled under the quiet hush of midnight, a fragile peace descending upon the Moonspire, Kael found Ariya in the courtyard. She stood under the direct gaze of the moon, its silver light illuminating her, her blades strapped to her back like an extension of her will. Ember stood beside her, bow slung over her shoulder, a silent sentinel.

The moon goddess has finally decided to smile on me, I can not contain my excitement. I take out my phone to call him but decide against it, he could be in a meeting or he could be busy. Maybe it is best I tell him this myself. I can already feel the jitters, this is definitely the best day of my life. As I get to the car, my driver opens the door gently and bows while I enter the car and in no time, he zooms off. “Are we on our way home, Luna?” He asks from the driver’s seat.

The moon shone better and her frightening was replaced by joy as the gazefull sky appeared again. It make everything alive again, the moon becomes brighter than before.It gives light to every corner of the forest, accompanied with millions of stars. The horrible tree bloomed it's flower once again and turned it's leaves as red as the bloody moon. The trunk was still strong but the branches were not as good as before. Every detail became the untold story for Selene but the important thing was the forest had a new life and it returned the beauty that surrounded it.
