Aimee POV I open my eyes but I don't see our room. I see the forest where I first met Ash. I look around but I don't see her. I just see the moon, full and bright, like it's smiling at me. The moon begins to glow and a shimmering light descends from the moon.

She drove the knife into the seam and forced it open. Inside lay documents sealed in plastic and a black stamp burned into the crate’s inner panel. The symbol punched the air from her lungs. Her hand froze. No. Her vision tunneled. She reached forward slowly, fingers trembling before they touched the mark. A broken crescent moon crossed by three claw slashes. Memory slammed into her. Smoke. Screams. Blood soaking the dirt. Her brother’s voice shouting her name. Then silence. Her knees hit the steel floor before she realized they had buckled.

He is going to kill me when he sees this. I had a “little” breakdown, and now it looks like a bomb went off. Chairs are overturned, books scattered, and the curtains now resemble a tattered flag on a battlefield. I catch my reflection in a cracked mirror. My hair is a mess, and my eyes are wild with anger and confusion. This isn’t me. What has gotten into me? I turn and look out the huge window. The moon shines above, and I feel both peace and turmoil. The room is eerily quiet until I hear the door softly creak open. Frank enters cautiously.

"Blood Moon?" Tara nearly drops the plate onto the table. "Blood Moon what?" Aiden pinches the bridge of his nose. Alpha Marcus sighs quietly. "Well." "That information was going to spread eventually." Ryan stares at me slowly. "...You're kidding." I gesture vaguely. "Surprise." Hunter whistles under his breath. "That explains the mating ball." Lizzie tilts her head. "The room shaking?" Ryan looks back at me. "That was you?" I shrug. "Apparently."

Oh boy did I plan to exploit it. The Luna ceremony came and went. I bled into a cup and the pack members pledged themselves to me as they drank from it. I remember the most painful part being the look in Donovan's eyes as he drank. The guilt I saw in him, and felt, once our pack bond was in place... Oh goddess it was horrible. Absolutely heartwrenching.

He wanted it to be perfect, not just another night but a cherished memory that would linger in Raven's heart forever. As Raven approached, the boat—a true work of art, adorned with delicate carvings depicting werewolf legends—beckoned, floating gracefully by the lakeshore.
