Abruptly, Elder Merope tilts her head up, her gaze fixed on the sky. I follow her gaze and feel my breath catch. The moon. It isn’t its usual bright self. A shadow creeps over it, covering its glow bit by bit. My chest tightens as I realize what this means. A lunar eclipse. A murmur ripples through the pack as others start to notice too.
