Time stretches by. There are no days or nights in the celestial realm, so it’s impossible to know just how long we spend trapped in the Moon Rabbit’s dungeon, but it’s a long, long time. Sterling and I pass the time by talking with each other. We share stories from our childhood, and make plans for our lives together when we finally manage to escape. We make up games to play, and come up with so many strange inside jokes that sometimes I wonder if anyone will still be able to understand us once we make it back to earth.

She poured it in one of the glasses and mixed it quickly.

Chang'e (Chinese Mythology): Chang'e is the Chinese goddess of the moon, known for her story of immortality. According to legend, she consumed a potion of immortality and floated to the moon, where she now resides. Chang'e is often depicted with a rabbit, known as the Jade Rabbit, who also lives on the moon and pounds the elixir of life. “I didn't know maids were given the privilege to learn how to read in Zurik.” I heard a familiar voice say. In Zurik it is believed that maids are to remain illiterate so as to avoid them from having the wisdom to understand certain important files and documents that may put the royal family in jeopardy. It also limits the amount of traitors they have.

She smiles, "I haven't." She answers. "But I would like to hear about it." "I have a book here. It's a novel based on the Moon Guardian's life that was written almost 700 years ago." She says, taking out a black book that looked like a journal. “Actually, I don’t think it’s a novel. I would call it a journal but people call it a novel.”
