The air split with a sound like cracking glass. From the center of the courtyard, a pillar of crimson light burst upward, and the shadow within it began to take form — massive, skeletal, wearing a thousand faces of despair.

I hissed in pain, then raised my hand toward the heavens. “Lunaris…” I whispered. “Help me.” The massacre around me seemed to pause for a moment as I kept my eyes locked on the sky. Then, like heaven’s blessing, a sharp ray of moonlight descended in a rippling wave, cutting through the clouds. Pale blue energy burst from my palms, forming a translucent light shield that arced over the bridge like a dome. The pale glow rippled outward, colliding against the Eclipsed Moon Pack’s advance, halting their momentum for a short yet crucial moment.

My pulse hammered at the possibility that there was a wolf among us actively trying to cripple the pack from within, that was one part but there was still the strange of absence of Astrid in all of this, it was funny how no one had considered the possibility that we had our enemy as our supposed Luna to-be. Behind me, the door creaked open. The soldiers gave way as Malik stepped in, his expression suddenly turning hard as he took note of the ruins we were standing in. “I was told you went this way, I was just trying to ensure you didn’t get into any type of trouble.” He said slowly, his eyes darting around everything. “What happened…here?” “ I guess we are empty Malik…completely cleared out.
