She was obviously young, probably fourteen or fifteen with red hair and a round hazel eyes which peered at me through the glass of the coffee shop. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the woman getting to her feet. She lunges at me, but I step to the side and grab her arm before she can slice at me. She’s fast, but I’m stronger. I twist her arm, and she drops her sword. “No!” the man shouts. “Don’t kill her.” I pause. My heart’s hammering, and I don’t know what to do. I’m not a killer. I don’t want to be a killer.

I kick her in the chest the lob her head off with my blade. Reaper shifts back into his cat hellhound hybrid as he takes on anyone that dares to come at me from the right. Blaze has rejoined the melee and taken up the spot to my left between me and Bonez.

Initially attacking Claudia, the orange blades suddenly spun around and headed straight for the back of Alex’s heart. “Careful, Alex!” Luna screamed.
